That was the worst night of boxing I've ever seen

I was watching with my brothers, my favorite bit was the ads for Cintron Vs Williams i could talk about boxing then.

 

Mik, I immediately switched off when Hide pulled out. Watching Hide was the only reason I tuned in, & when the going got tough, Herbie got going, & I ****ed off along with him!

well when I say 'immediately' I actually hung around for Barry Hearn tossing a coin with that Tony Blair fake grin of his just for freakshow value, then I turned off.

& it kills me to admit that as a boxing fan, but admit it I will. Our sport is in BIG trouble.

 

I missed it all. Why did Herbie pull out?

 

I respect anyone who has the courage to step through those ropes, but that was hard to watch for someone who grew up on Sweet Pea.

This "Prizefighter" gimmick has had its time. I said from the get go it was a load of garbage that was *******ising the sweet science.

 

Cut over the eye looked nasty at the time but after they dried it up looked like **** all to me (This was before he went to the corner). After he was in the corner it didn't let a drop out. After the first fight he said the doctor said if it opened up he would pull him out but i doubt it.

 

cut due to clash of heads - hopefully tommorrow night will re-install peoples faith in the sweet science,i'm sure it will :good:good

I did that too buddy, NO joking! I switched over to BBC1, to check the teletext, seen Ross was interviewing Russell Crowe & watched that, not because of Ross, hes just an A list arselicker, but Russell Crowe fascinates me just cos of the bad press he gets etc.

I actually got a guilt trip for switching off, but for **** sake. Corbett was a hundred stone, Hide pulled out in a huff cos he got cut & the welsh boy had the cheek to fight back, Krence was stil breathing hard on the backstage camereas about half an hour after his first fight, it was AWFUL!

& then we had Nelson & Mensa boy in the studio as usual boring the socks off everyone with their 'safe' comments, & I had to turn over for the sake of my own sanity.

Im glad to know at least someone else on Brit ESB felt my pain on this one.

 

The worst part about that awful night is i done my dough....

 

Ive watched a few of the prizefighters , and it really is turning into an MMA type night , really poor quality , and just looks like fat bouncers swinging in a car park.

 

Absolute mess but still entertaining sick a sick way.

 

next thing we'll have tag team boxing....its a terrible thing for pro boxing that this circus act should be allowed to promote itself as a professional boxing tournament...
someone is going to get seriously hurt too due to the format of the thing...can you imagine if the likes of that khalid fella last night was put in with a former heavyweight belt holder and current cruiser world contender...

 

Pretty much an utter disgrace, could have done better finding people off the street, which by the looks of things they did.
