Think about it - when Tyson and Lennox unified in 1988 and 1999 respectively, they only had to beat two other champions - now Vlad is in the silly postion of having to beat three other champs to be considered undisputed!

The irony here is that that WBO belt didn't mean anything until Vlad won it in 2000! Frankly the IBF title is non-glorious as well...

Has to beat two other champs from here. And of course its not impossible, its just an extra fight.

Only thing Wlad had to do was press for unifications with the WBC and the WBA - two simple fights and defending his IBF Championship - that's not so hard. He clearly doesn't want to get it on with some of the others when he doesn't need to... He's already making plenty of money and winning fights in the US and in Germany. I remember he said in his last fight in MSG before Iggy and written down by the Ring that he was never moved to go into a series of unification fights. This thing about Iggy has to do with his relationship to the WBO Commission as a former Champion and the fact that it's mentally healthy for him to get back the Championship he lost once. I still think he has the guts to fight Chagaev but I wouldn't put my hands in fire for it.

The WBO was around in 1988 and 1999, thus Tyson and Lewis were never undisupted Champions...

It is very unlikely you will ever have a unified World Champion again, there is a lot more than four organizations;)

This is the problem you face when you start treating the WBO as a legit world title. Surely three is enough.

That doesn't matter. It is still not a proper world title.

    Just not a WBO fan.

I was a Johnny Nelson fan and he was WBO champion for the long time. I'm not going to call it a world title just so I can call one of my favourite fighters a world champion.

It is very possible, especially if Wladdy only fights the champs since years ago instead of guys like Ray Austin.

and it didnt mean anything when they stripped it from Sanders for fighting for unification with Vitali for WBC and ring titles.

WBO has been regarded as a joke since the wlad loss to Brewster, his loss to Sergei, his awful fight with Briggs and his awful fight with Ibragamov. Nobody hailed any of these guys as champions or even real top 5 contenders so why do people have this strange view of the WBO title meaning anything towards giving us a champion. Call Wlad unified or have Buffer announcing Undisputed heavyweight championship of the world like last night but we are no closer to have THE Champion today than we were yesterday.

Nobody gave Calzaghe any credit as a "World" champion until he beat Lacy for the Ibf title. The WBO belt was seen as Frank Warrens ticket to billing th efights as world titles, the same way he did with Hattons WBU title lol. Its all about marketing the fight on tv as world title, its disengenous.

Wlad currently holds 2 of the big 4, yes big 4, not big 3, titles. Therefore he is a unified champ. Is he undisputed? No.
