Hate to **** on your parade but if it was same-day weigh-ins both Margo and Cotto would be fighting at middleweight. I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto was over 160lbs by fight night against Margarito.

tony came in at 160 + right??? ...tony proved he was the tougher fighter right???... where am i taking away from him?? .. tony belongs at 160 + cotto belongs at 154 ... ****in diaz and kat weighed in 147 + last night...

its not just the cotto margarito fight im talking aboutall ofthem ... they all do it and its ignorant... when leonard fought hearns it was for the 147 pound title...and they weighed that much or under... thats the way it should be

Everyone rehydrates a considerable amount these days. If they changed it to same day weigh-in then nearly everyone would just shift a division or two up.
I don't think it would really solve anything in the grand scheme of things.

    How was Cotto exposed?

Yeah Cotto's brilliant boxing ability was exposed and the fact he couldnt bury Margarito who P4P has one of the best chins in the world is being "EXPOSED?"

Margarito is a monster who is absolutely relentless and never stops throwing punches.

Cotto wasnt exposed. He just got beat by the better fighter that NIGHT.

its just pointless in my eyes ... it always leaves for someone to get hurt ...like gatti vs gamache ... where you have a natural fighter at his natural weight going up agianst a guy who dosn't belong there ..

not even gonna bother responding to the kid that keeps making remarks ..hes just some 16 year old punk that dosn't know **** about **** except on how to pervoke fights ...soon as i call him a bean counter he'll be screaming bloody murder

It exposed him for not being fit enough and relying on his bombs too much. It didnt expose him as a quitter who took a knee without even being hit.

Thats an excuse. You could use an excuse like that for Amir Khant. You could just say he was caught cold at the begginig of the bout before he set any type of pace etc etc

    Swings and roundabouts

Im sorry, people can say what they like but these same people were calling Zoo a quitter for what he did, the only reason its different for Cotto is because all the US fans over-hyped him to be a beast, as they did Lacy.

Cotto is still a great fighter and I think he could have possibly won the fight through a comfortable decision only if he had stayed off the ropes and if he hadn't started so fast, tiring himself out as we all know Margo is a later starter.. Cotto taking a knee was a good idea IMO because he was probably in pain and I would have hated to seen him get KO'd.. Hopefully this won't scar his career and he can bounce back from this defeat.. Lacy just got dismantled all together through the whole fight he had with Calzaghe..

Agian I never said Cotto wasnt a good fighter, or Khan was as good as him, I simply stated he was over-hyped by US fight fans as was Lacy...and Williams.
