UFC came over to Seattle washington for a show at Key Arena.
Obviously I wouldn't go since any loyal boxing fan will acknowledge that UFC is for ***s..
But then I read in a news paper article that it was planned for 7500 seats. Already 15000 seats are sold.
After weigh in Dana White told all the 12 fighters on the card that the two fighters in beat fight of the night will get $55,000.00 each.
And fighter with highlight reel KO will also get $55,000.00.
Keep in mind that these cauiliflower eared punks on undercards make up to $500 dollars and can of beans for their fights.
So giving them such incentive of most peoples yearly wage for a good performance is kinda like telling them whoever wins gets to live.
Think about it.. Throwing a bone to twelve starved dogs.. We know they'll tear each other uo for it.

    That's genius promoting.
How does boxing do it?? On undercard of suoerfights they will put Rocky Juarez for $100,000 and that bum will sleep walk thought te fight putig evryone else to sleep. I swear his boxing license should be revoked for how mny times I had to suffer through his dull affairs while waiting for a fight. And just to think that this bum has the power to make KO reels in each fight.

I think boxing promoters should take a note of Whites brilliance. He told fighters "go earn it"
for that much cash it's worth taking a chance.

That's a stupid gimmick that might work on a local level but when you're pulling down hundreds of thousands (or millions) at the top level you don't need that crap. Also from what I heard the most recent UFC was a bit of a flop both attendance and PPV purchase-wise

What UFC is they have a system. Fighters fight in the UFC for the UFC title. Now we have 4 major sanction bodies with many titles and "champions" with many more promotional companies. UFC can just promote the brand and people will see the fights.

They have basically one large promotional company that allows so much to happen so easily. It means no stifling competition between rival promoters preventing match-ups, less difficult negotiations between stubborn or scared champions and contenders, 1 defined champion for each division, and the ability to make substantially large advertisement deals with business brands, television companies, and merchandising. It's central planning of the sport that makes it grow like it has been.

Who knows how it would work in boxing; UFC fighters have to hand over their likeness and sell their souls to the company more or less, but with more money coming in and fighters being used to more independence from binding organizations in the sport of boxing, maybe they could establish a more fighter-friendly version of a unified organizational body.

Whatever they do, boxing should reach out to the consciousness of the general public more.

That's fine for prison fighting UFC bums, but REAL talent must be rewarded properly.
The fighters get $50K while Dana White gets $50M.
Boxing ain't that kind of party. :patsch

The concept of a bonus for the fighters involved in the best fight of the night isn't a bad one at all, especially for something like Friday Night Fights or BAD where there's not a huge budget in the first place. I wouldn't want it to the extent of the UFC where the bonus is 100 times what some of them make (sadly, that's no exaggeration), though.

Im obviously not suggesting that 50K will make Floyd Mayweather or Pacman happy.

But even in boxing all those guys on undercards make 5 to 10 grand. And their fights are straight up shitty.
You dont think this could help them fight harder.

    I been to some fights.
Been to Floyd vs. Mitchell in Portland.
Vitali vs. Arreola in LA and
Darchinyan vs. Arce in Anaheim. And let me tell you until the main even the undercards were dreadful.
This could liven up the undercards up till main event.

And what the hell is that bum promote last???
He couldnt draw flies to **** with his "Ill kill u and make love to your wife" threats.

If u notice the pattern.. Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, De La Hoya, Cotto.

Every big fight he participated in and got his face caved in.. He was fighting a superstar and he was just a doormat to make the beating more exciting. He never promoted ****!!!

UFC is also a product of its own hype, every KO is the KO of the century to them, ever submission is the slickest submission in human history. The talent level is too high in boxing too, if you get a guy trying to head hunt he's just going to get outboxed.

For anyone who hate on Dana and that includes alot of people and I cant stand him somewhat. He is where he is in life (better than most of us) not because he has a brilliant mind but he relates to the very basic wants and needs of the common person be it fighters or the fans.

You want more money? well then do this. Simple universal, perennial and effective concept.

UFC is doing a lot of the things boxing should be doing. Dismissing skill levels and saying the payouts are relative peanuts to boxing is missing the point.

A few top level boxers taking the big money at the top is not going to help sustain or grow the sport. The one thing that is happening in UFC is people are fighting each other. I can't think of many other sports where you would get a Pac/mayweather situation. People want to see the best fight each other which seems simple, but ufc seems to have tuned into this better than boxing does now.

MMA is monopolized by the UFC.
