Clinches grabs jabs and blasts him out with thunderous hooks and rights . like BUSTER did . The HOLY . Then LL ect
Must be a joke, Tyson was a real fighter with unreal speed and power. No way Wlad would have survived him. Remember Wlad was knocked down by Steve Panell and Davaryll Williamson. Imagine what Tyson would´ve done.
Clumsy wlad dont have the footwork to get pass the first round against tyson. Its painfully odvious unless YDKSAB
The only thing I think would give Tyson a problem is Wald jab, although Tyson was good at weaving the jab. On the inside even if Wald would of been on that holding ****, Tyson would of still been able to get to his body and course damage. Young tyson was able to go the distance, if he focused on Wald body first and then the head. He would of KOd him in the later rounds.
I have always felt that Vitali beats tyson but If Tyson vs Wlad was in the US then Tyson wins easy,if it's in Europe however, things could be different, Mike would get frustrated with the clinching and may get himself disqualified.
Prime Tyson slips the jab and as Wlad leans forward to hug, delivers a massive uppercut to the brittle mandible. Fight over. Tyson KTFO1 Wlad. That is all. Carry on.
Yeah, he landed some uppercuts, then spent the rest of the round hugging it out. You can see the 1st round here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZLbZpqNNB4 After rewatching it, here's what I see: - Tyson able to actually use his speed to land multiple jabs on the taller Lewis - Lewis at times looking clumsy in retreat from Tyson's rushes - Lewis going Vlad with the repeated holding and pushing down on the head (he literally didn't attempt a punch from 2:17 to 1:27 of the round and only held) - Tyson able to land right hands and later a left hook oin the taller Lewis Again, this is a absolutely finished Mike Tyson we're talking about. I went to the fight. I heard folks saying they saw Tyson at the casinos in Mississippi the night before the fight. But for those little glimpses of 'the old Tyson' (the one who was active with headmovement and smart pressure), you could see the problems he would give Klitschko. And he STILL won Round 1.
Round 1 was a case of Tyson winning the round but the die had been cast on how Lewis was going to win the fight. Those upper cuts were vicious and regardless of the scoring it was Tyson who left the round hurt, not Lewis.
Prime Tyson would have won the fight before it even started.. Mind you, this was before Douglas. For those who mention Green and Smith, They could take a much harder punch than Wlad ever could. Wlad would be too scared to get hit to actually throw any punches.
Fair enough. But a prime Tyson would be way harder to hit with those uppercuts. I would also argue that at the range Lewis was throwing them, a younger Tyson's foot speed makes that a very dangerous punch for Lewis to continue to throw.
Hard to say. Tyson's range was mid range, he wasn't a particularly great inside fighter. I think he would have struggled to hit Lewis in the head and would have likely been exposed trying, but he'd have thrown some vicious body shots that's for sure. The big question would be how much punishment would Lewis be able to inflict while Tyson was trying to get inside, and if he did get inside could Lewis smother him before getting hurt. In terms of styles I think the both would have fought roughly the same styles they did when they actually fought. But of course Tyson would be faster and he wouldn't give up after one round. As for how dangerous the upper cut would have been I think Lewis landing it is much, much better than him not landing it, so if he can land it he can hurt Tyson, that much we know. It would be a hell of a great fight to have seen.
Thing to keep in mind * You thought this fight was a big size difference? Tyson would be almost 4'' shorter then Povetkin. And no real reason to believe Tyson would be physically stronger then him (matters when in the clinch) I favor Tyson to beat Wlad. But make no mistake.... the Wlad you saw this weekend is 37 years old. I don't think its that far fetched that a prime Wlad could potentially grab, hold, clinch, mixed in with enough short left hook, jabs, and straight rights, that would really frustrate Tyson. Would really depend on the ref as well.
