He could have outboxed Rios and still lost because it wasn't in Arum's plans. He knew Arum's gameplan from the start and wasn't going to lose his '0' with a bull**** decision.
heres an old conspiracy thread of mine about the situation :yep :think http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386140
Definitely in my mind I think Arum puts pressure on the judges, somehow he "has" them....... I don´t mean that they are necessarily corrupts.....but somehow, someway, Arum has them on his side....
Yeah..but I don´t think it´s only a matter of money..... In the boxing world there is a lot of "exchange of favors", I mean...like in politics you always owes something to someone and that´s the way this big machine works.....
But does it even matter? If Gamboa was to actually beat Rios which I doubt, I actually think he would have been stopped so good decision, WE all know who won, so he did't get the "official" win, we know Abril won, nothing changes that, it would be the same if Gamboa gets robbed, we would all know he won.
I doubt it. Gamboa can't spend his career worrying about getting robbed. This wasn't the reason he didn't fight Rios - he must be kicking himself that he didn't given the performance.
Gamboa isn't worried about Rios. No doubt Arum or friends have an affect on the decision. Boxing needs a clean up
