He could have targeted Mayweather around 04-05 then fought Mayweather after Mayweather vs Gatti. He could have fought a tune up to the fight while Mayweather vs Gatti needed to be completed.

Not saying that this is what he should have done but Oscar had more power to make the fight at an earlier time then Mayweather did. So there is no reason to knock Mayweather for fighting Oscar when he did.

Then there is the fact that Mayweather has looked to stand and trade and take more hits then he ever has in the past and he is 35 and slightly lost a step. To say the sole reason that the fight went the way it did because he fought a close to prime fighter while ignoring all other aspects is childish.

 

Keep telling yourself that if it makes your sad hater ass less miserable. Try and convince yourself with these "ifs".

:deal Floyd controlled the beginning of the fight, Cotto had a nice run in the middle and Floyd closed the show. Great fight. Floyd came and did what he said he would, and Cotto came with his best and made it a great fight.

Also... Oscar vs Floyd was not close. :verysad

 

Yep. Floyd dominates a fight and yet terrible threads like this still somehow sprout up.
