Wow long post but I read it. Anywho I wouldn't call Ali so technical because he relied more on his reflexes. He did block well against Foreman though lol. Mayweather relies more on the shoulder-roll & high-guard while Pernell relied more on the shoulder roll & foowork.

It's always funny when Puerto RIcans accuse others of running and then
do a complete 180 when the subject of Calderon comes up!

It's his opponent's fault for not cutting off the ring. Also I hear nothing about Ali, Leonard, and Pernell being "runners" and they were notorious for using lateral movement. What Calderon does is box. If his opponents can't cut off the ring and/or slow him down then too bad for them.

Calderon looked good even though he was knocked down. Calderon vs Segura should be next.

Calderon is great boxer, no doubt about that, but for you guys to deny that he runs like a rabbit and hugs like a mini John Ruiz just makes you sound ridiculously biased or in denial!

What, you've never heard anyone call those boxers "runners"..................You must be new to the sport!

What do you mean "you guys"? lol. I'm not even a Rican, I'm Black/Native American/Jamaican. Whether he runs or not that's still his opponent's fault, they should slow him down and cut the ring off. He may run & hold sometimes I admit that but he's still a great boxer.

    On youtube,yes.
    On ESB, not too much.

I've followed this sport for years & have had 7 months of practice under my belt plus countless of hours watching fights so I'm not new.

"you guys" as in you guys who defend Calderon's running.

You are right about one thing, the only way to stop Calderon is to cut the ring but c'mon man, did you ever try to catch a rabbit.

He does run I've admitted that but it's not as bad as people make it. If the guy wants to move it! move it! he should be able to. I like to move it! move it! but I hate when guys move alot and don't punch enough when they need to. No, never tried to catch a rabbit but have tried to catch fast, agile dogs. It's hard man.

Like the commentator pointed out last night. He is a mover but in the process he also outpunches his opponents. He is a boxer, not a slugger. (Calderon clinches)He has sense enough not to let a guy pound on him when he is not in position to punch. Cotto should pick up on that.

Exactly! It's almost impossible to catch someone when they are constantly running!;)

Ruiz doesn't run. Calderon fights nothing like Ruiz. Ruiz style is just flat out boring cause he hits and hold, hits and hold, hits and hold, hits and hold. <<All of that in which Ruiz doesn't have any boxing skills.
