Thaxton v. Romanov

There are two sides to that story though - not just the one that came out from SN.

Anyway its not all about the money. At least Thaxton is challenging for a genuine title in his next fight rather than some dressed up world title eliminator like Khan.

 

I am hoping that Thaxton wins and then Khan will fight him for both belts, can't see it though.

Its a genuine step towards a world Title.

 

IF Thaxton were to beat Romanov I think it is even less likely Khan would fight him.

I don't think the Khan v Kristjansen match up is worthy of being a world title eliminator.

 

iv checked boxrec and theres no details of it being a WBO eliminator, if it is then theres no excuse for putting in such a poor opponent for a title shot.

 

Boxrec aren't always accurate unfortunately. When 'Khan gets Kristjansen' was announced (second time around) on FWTV in Feb it said it would be for a world title eliminator. Even recently when Rees was calling out Khan there was an article on there stating it again.

for those that care, after this fight he is leaving everything he has ever known and moving to sheffield to train full time with the ingles. great move for couchie, he is a switch itter and training full time should be able to hit 9 4.

 

i cant see romano stopping thaxton..

i want thaxton to win, i think he will win then he can fight khan and get knocked out

 

If Jon wins then he would be within his rights to give Khan the big Foxtrot Oscar. Khan has admitted that he could have fought Romanov or Thaxton, but decided Kristjansen was the quickest route to a "world" title.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out after this weekend. (one of these fights will have a surprise ending, BTW)

If the Romanov you saw in that youtube clip turns up, then I would favour Thaxton, but if Romanov is anywhere near his best then Jon is in for a hard night.

 

But also if the usual Romanov turns up and the best version of Thaxton turns up then Yuri will be in for an hard night.

 

I think we can say it's not going to be an easy fight for either man! I'm really looking forward to this fight, I really don't believe the Khan fans are looking forward to the Kristjansen fight with as much keen anticipation.....
