Why is Thaxton so highly rated on this site? I mean the guy has looked bad in any step up the competition level. And he has struggled against Lawton, and Meager. He doesnt pose much of a challenge to Romonov if Romonov is really world level.
Katsidis, hmm, three fights outside Australia in which he's been in trouble against Earl, struggled against Amonsot and knocked out by Casamayor. Still really failing to see why he's rated so highly by so many.
Struggled against Meager ? , he destroyed Meager and probably would of stopped him if he had another 35 seconds . Won almost every round too .
Katsidis is garbage, I don't know how many times this needs to be pointed out. He's never had a convincing win against anyone with a pulse, and has infact sturuggled with C class fighters like Earl/Amonsot What does that tell you? It tells you he is very one dimensional, and too reliant on his power, and as massive defensive flaws. So in all honesty, he's about B- class at best. Too many people are blinded by his exciting style Romanov beats him, J.Diaz beats him, Campbell beats him and even Khan beats him if he boxes sensibly. The only guy I give him a chance with is David Diaz, as he fights in a style that would make it a tear up
I wouldn't be so cocksure, anybody that struggles with Earl and Amonsot (!?) can certainly lose to an operator like Romanov Infact, Romanov has the style to light him up big time.
I don't I think he was a far better fighter back then and even if he doesn't get stopped he will be well beaten.
By that standard presumably Amir Khan would annihalate both Katsidis and Romanov. If we accept your implication that Graham Earl was fighting to the same level in all of the fights....
I don't remember that , I remember Meager winning 1 or 2 of the first 4 and then being taken apart for the rest of the fight . As far as I can recall that was an extremely dominant Thaxton win . Anyone else care to share what they remember of that bout to clear things up a little .
