Thoughts? Thaxton wanted Khan, a victory over Prescott arguably means more now?

if not, I'd like to see Thaxton fight John Murray. I like Murray, but I think Thaxton would stop him late.

if he makes a push for the World stage he'd be better at going for the Valero/David Diaz/Santa Cruz/Katsidis way and wait for a weaker title holder. Try and get a fight with 'regular' WBA champ Yusuke Kobori.

Fair play to Jono, he seems to have found a good blend at LW. it's the toughest division around at the moment IMO but Thaxton has the heart and perseverance. Who knows? I personally can't see him beating the likes of Juan Diaz and Nate Campbell. Fights with JMM and Pacman will never happen in a million years? Although LWW isn't a great division, he seems to have matured well as a LW.

Back to Prescott; would he be able to deal with Thaxton's switch-hitting power punches? Would his punches have the same effect on anyone or where they amplified by Khan's china chin? Hell, what is Prescott's chin like??? Fellow Colombian power punchers like Edison Miranda have shown a tendency to fold under pressure.

Could Thaxton sustain the kind of pressure needed to stop a young, hungry puncher???

Both fighters are somewhat green, the one thing I can say about Breidis is that he's got massive power. It was only natural when he faced Grade-A china chinned Amir Khan that he was gonna knock him out.

Thaxton doesnt deserve a shot at a World title, I dont care how nice he is, every World class fighter he fought beat him and winning the EBU title doesnt put you in line for the Diaz's and Campbells of the world.

Lets not forget what Romanov done to him.

Romanov v Prescott might be more interesting. Prescott's next fight is going to be interesting, lets hope it's a decent match up. Not heard any rumours yet.

Neither is Thaxton. He's a paper champion. Beating a movement-restricted fighter does not a European Champ make.

Beating a guy that used to be the champion and holding the belt makes him Euro level. Nobody really else out there around Europe at the moment.

Prescoot has beaten a few taxi drivers and a china chinned bum and should not be rated in the top 100 world ratings. Prescott has not looked at all impressive, ever.

Yusuke Kobori is fighting Marco Antonio Barrera in December, and will most likely lose that.

Thaxton doesn't deserve a world title shot, he got mauled by Romanov the same man that lost to Graham Earl. He might be a nice guy but if he was put into a ring with the likes a Julio Diaz or a Michael Katsidis he would get a beating, as for him fighting for a LW title, it would be a bad choice, hes not even in my top top 4 in britain let alone the world
