I'm not arguing about Whitaker or RJJ being in or around the top. I'm simply saying that if Tyson and Lewis get included in the poll then so should Holyfield.

Sweet Pea was the best, RJJ the most exciting, Chavez the toughest carrer.

Whitaker is the greatest boxer of the past 20+ years, but some of his best wins (Ramirez, Haugen, R. Mayweather) were in the late 80's, so it makes it closer.

I'd still lean towards Pernell though, Chavez, McGirt (twice), Azumah Nelson, Vasquez, etc is better than Toney, Hopkins, Hill, etc. Whitaker did fade by the mid-90's where as Jones was on top of his game through the decade, so it could be argued for Jones.

That's a good arguement and I agree it's very close between the two of them but Jones beat Woods,Tarver,Gonzalez and Ruiz in the 00's.

Easily the most exciting fighter of the 1990's was Prince Naseem Hamed. The best fighter however, was Roy Jones Jr. closely followed by Lennox Lewis.
I would also add Holyfield and Tito to the choices.

Because many of Oscar's big fights happened after the 90's had ended.
