Stuck in the classic era there.

    Where's McCall, McCullough, Toney?

Here are a list of fighters who were never down in their entire careers:

    Juan Laporte
    Sixto Escobar
    Billy Graham
    Dulio Loi

Their inclusion is pretty much mandatory on a best chins list, imo.

McCullough is #1 for me , Zackman you got a rating for McCullough's chin(seeing as you are our resident expert ;)) ?

McCullough was never down amateur or pro and the only time he was stopped was when he was being outlanded(and just taking too many shots for his own good) by Oscar Larios in their second fight .

James Toney - only been down twice in 79 fights and both KDs were balance shots.

Holyfield - has taken some hellacious shots throughout his career by hard punchers; although he's been down and stunned, never unconcious and never from one shot.

George Foreman - the big guy was eating more haymakers in his second coming than customers were eating burgers from his GF Grills! Man could seriously take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.

Rocky Marciano - Like Holyfield he took shots and was an undersized heavyweight, but even if he went down he got back up and had enough werewithall to win every time.

Ali - Stood up to some solid heavyweights in his day and increasingly so during the "rope a dope" portion of his career. He fought an entire fight with Ken Norton with his jaw broken (15 rounder!) A lesser chin would have thrown in the towel.

Honorable Mention goes to Arthur Abraham - I saw most of his fight with Miranda and it was the first fight I have seen that made me cringe. Abraham's jaw was practically hanging off the hinges and he still took some nasty haymakers to that thing without falling or quitting. Thing is, now that he's got a metal plate in it he might be able to take a harder punch than he could before:admin .

P.S. these may not be the top chins all time, but for me, they are the most impressive.

Yeah, I guess he was just stumbling around after Johnson hit him because he was slipping on the water he spit out in between rounds.

Don't make excuses, great chin, but he was clearly rocked.

Everyone on my list has been rocked, but it doesn't disqualify their status. I wasn't putting my list in any particular order, just typed as they came to mind.

Maybe not one of the top 10 best chins but one of the most underrated is Reggie Johnson's chin. Never stopped and received a one sided beating by Roy Jones.

I'm sure Ali should be in there, he often relied on his chin to take punches until his opponent tired. Which unfortunately has now taken it's toll on the mans life.

Abraham is another good shout from JET, he had a broken jaw against Miranda, and still fought on to win. He has never been stopped either, nor has he lost.

I also once saw this journeyman with a record like 9-23-3, 2KO's. Or something terrible like that, and he had never been stopped, knocked down or even wobbled according to the commentator. He was African, I think he was a Welterweight, aswell. The fight I saw him in he lost on point but withstood some real heavy shots. He had a real granite chin, but un fortunately I don't know his name.

lost 11 times, kod in the 2nd round against the great...Paulo Sanchez :)

the greatest chin in history is Jake La Motta, no-one could take a brutal punishing like that poor *******.
