    In my mind the idea here would be to learn something. Watching any fighter live where there is clear modern footage already available would be a waste.

    I would see it as being my duty to select the fighters that I would be able to add most to our knowledge of the sport by viewing.

    I might even agree to let somebody else go in my place, if I thought at their observations would add more.

    My list therfore focuses on fighters who there is no/little film of, and who are important to the history and development of the sport:

    Tom Cribb
    Tom Sayers
    Jem Mace
    John L Sullivan
    Peter Jackson
    George Dixon
    Terry McGovern
    Tommy Ryan
    Barbados Joe Walcott
    Harry Greb

    Would anybody suggest different choices given my criteria?
