291-4 is all you need to know.....Are you arguing with me because he didn't win a gold medal?

Ah I see where you're getting at. You're looking at records.
The greatest records however are those which have been proven by beating the very best in the world.

He didn't medal, but damn that's a great amatuer record.... I said he was a bad mother****er in his prime... I should have specified I was talking about his pro career, early on at least.

Yup. Nice records aren't cutting it.

Bernard Taylor probably has the best record of US fighters.
    481-8 supposedly.

Are you actually making a case that because of his record he should be in the top 10 of greatest amateurs since the 70's?

That's why the OP pretty much listed him right? But for the record, I was initially talking about his pro career... you jumped the gun a bit.

Honestly, I don't think you know who terrible Terry was.. Google doesn't do him justice.

Some people here don't know how the amateurs operate or operated back then lol. The posters who don't list any Americans in their top 10, just discredit them lol. It's more of a jealousy thing of how we live here in America when it comes to trash posters like that lol. Vasyl Lomachenko isn't close to being the best amateur ever. He is in the top 10...closer to 10.

It not nationalism... you got it all wrong... THE US Has been dominated for years, and haven't meddled since 2008 and deontay won Bronze.... Ward was the last gold medal winner and that was 2004...

Lomachenko has lost once out of almost 400 amatuer fights, how do you not rank that no.1? Would you Rank Lomachenko if he was Floyd?

Says the guy who can't name 10 amateur boxers without a google search. It's very safe to put Lomachenko ahead of the likes of Teofilo Stevenson, Lazslo Papp, Felix Savon and he's very clearly one of the greatest ever. You don't know **** about amateur boxing, you're just being the bigot you always are.

I think that's one of the biggest problems of American boxing, not paying enough attention to amateur boxing. Prospects just rush into pro ranks to chase the money without learning the fundamentals and they waste years fighting against club fighters.

Nobody is talking about nationalism. To not include an American amateur fighter in their top 10 best amateurs ever is assinine and you know it. I'm not talking to the real followers of the sport. I'm talking to the true ****head fans of our sport with Floyd connotations and fake American bias written all over their posts. And Lomachenko doesn't have the most Gold medals which is what the amateurs are all about-medals right?
