A couple of those don’t make the cut with me. All excellent fighters though of course!

It's odd from the standpoint that I've never seen one historian put Lionel Rose in their top ten at bantam. For a historical backdrop the IBRO didn't even rate Rose in their top 20 with their member poll with 20+ people voting. Rose didn't even make their honorable mention list of 14 other names. So these voters are essentially saying he's not even top 30. There has been a good amount of talent in this division.

I'd guess Jofre and Olivares are #1 and #2.

It will be interesting to see if Flea Man gives McGovern or Dixon a spot in his top ten.

I don't profess to be that up to speed with the division so I am open to being corrected, and my choices are not cast in stone.

I wouldn’t be ‘correcting’ you mate, all opinions at the end of the day.

Hopefully I make good cases for all the fighters though. You’re splitting hairs once you get up near the top.

Over a decade has passed since IBRO compiled their lists; and that gives us plenty of time to re-assess the worth of fighters that may have been unjustifiably passed over for consideration the first time around. And, even considering the wealth of talent in this division, few fighters have gone on quite the run that Rose did prior to meeting Olivares.

Good reading and good seeing you post on here again. I miss your insights into the lighter weights and Asian fighting market. Interested to see how the list plays out due to the criteria before having an opinion
