All his detractors have gone all soft and mushy on him since his fight with Haye...false sentimentality since it was his last fight.

To be fair, though, Limon was not particularly skilled, but had other attributes which made him a very formidable opponent. He was one of the ugliest fighters ever to watch. Insanely wide, telegraphed punches. Chacon on the other hand is a terrible pick. He could go to war, but was also a very clever counter-puncher, if a bit unorthodox.
i dont like watching videos of max baer....also not a fan of sam peter...both i'd put here, just my opinion on them also, look up the name waldamar holburg, he was welterweight champion in 1914 for 20-something days...most of his wins before the title came from boxers with very few fights and very poor opposition...his name pops up on these kind of lists
[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Santana[/ame] won...defended..and lost...a world title...each time on his arse!! ^^
Chacon was a horrible pick.. Bobby had more skils than most champions, and was always known as a boxer/Puncher until he moved up to JL... Even at JL he had skills he just chose to brawl instead... Boza had skills.to.. Ill give you LImon he was just tough, good puncher and awkward.
How completely ludicrous it is to have Marquez, Vargas, and Foster in this list has been addressed by others. I don't think Berbick belongs in the top 10. Greg Page ABSOLUTELY doesn't belong. Greg was very skilled but just never materialized due to plenty of things going on outside the ring and a total lack of motivation during the time period when he needed to be maturing as a fighter. I can't believe there hasn't been a Ricardo Mayorga mention. He's the first one that came to mind for me. I know he'd be numero uno on Emanuel Steward's list.
I think that Baer was a lot more sneaky than he is given credit for. Sluggers don't inherently lack skill, if they are employing their style because it is the one most suitable for them. You are not going to try to make Rocky Marciano into a technical boxer for example.
You got to be Kidding me on Dempsey. He had a lot of skills great head movement, ruthless aggression, will to win, and power in both hands of course when he was swinging for the fences he would get wild a bit and had his bad moments but he was very technically sound than given credit for. Other than that agree with the rest especially with bear hugger Ruiz and Bonehugger Smith
the main knock on Bear though is mainly his focus and his lack of defense but man did he have a chin and power on him and also a lot of strength
If the question was who did the most with the least skill. Ingemar Johansen. An amateur who had one special punch/trick, would be expected to get caught out fairly early on. Johansen essentialy ascended to, and won the title, with one punch!
