I know this would be entirely impossible, but what if Terrell had faced Martin, rather than Spencer, who would instead face Ellis? And Bonavena faced Patterson and Mildenberger faced Quarry? how would things have turned out?
In that case, I have Terrell stopping Martin and Ellis stopping Spencer. I then have Bonavena edging out Patterson and Quarry knocking out Mildenberger. With the remaining four I have Ellis beating Terrell via UD and I'm stumped on Bonavena vs. Quarry. That would be a very rough fight. Quarry was the better fighter, but Bonavena might outmuscle him. I still have to go with Quarry. In the end it still boils down to Ellis and Quarry. Although style-wise Quarry is wrong for Ellis, and Quarry took the fight with his back injury, I think if Ellis used the same game plan he originally used, it would still work, the fight would just be a lot tougher.

The above statement is plausible except Floyd Patterson defeats Oscar Bonavena by unanimous decision as he did in 1972. It would be easier for Floyd as he is younger and quicker. But I know my friend, it's Jimmy, Ha Ha You cannot fool me. Lol.

Ya, I know that the Patterson-Bonavena could go either way, but what a fight this one would have been!
Hey, Ellis gets a lot loss credit than he deserves.

Jimmy Ellis was a good boxer, all kidding aside, but he did not have a Frazier like killer instinct.

Agreed, but I think Jimmy's greatest nemesis was that he was not the most accurate puncher when he tried to put his victims away, and he also tended to get tired fast since he would throw so many wasted punches.
