Fury's size and strength were huge factors. Vlad needed to have explosive bursts...5 or 6 punch combinations. Fury was wide open much of the time, but Vlad was tentative and I think he sensed Fury's upper body strength and feared going toe to toe. Memories of old knockouts are probably still lodged in his head somewhere. Caution didn't serve him well. He could have risked his chin and blasted away...sure, maybe you miss the first two or three punches, but you set up numbers 4, 5, and 6. He didn't do that. And I doubt he'll do any better in a rematch.

Wlad doesnt take chances unless its safe for him. With the small fighter he gets away with much. against man his size and speed he has no courage

Wlad has been gun shy for a long time. When has Wlad had that moment when he had to lay it on the line? When he had to look at another man, and say its you or me, and here I come motherf*cker. Thats not Wlad. In his prime he was bigger than everybody, fast and hit like a truck. But he was scared even then and when they lasted he panicked. Emanuel Steward, gave him a formula and it was successful. The guy was champion for a decade.

Really fury was pretty elusive for a giant

Wlad has basically been using his size to smother and bully smaller opponents for years in a defensive negative fighting style and as a result has been pretty reluctant to throw his right hand until he feels his opponent is in a defeated state .

Through the half fight i thought damn wlad looks tired already.
From round 10 fury was fighting to survive cause he was spend. really really tired and wlad a little fresher then compared. from there on i saw huge opportunitys for wlad to chin fury IMO. Even once fury was pulling his shorts up and wlad could have unloaded..

Because he can't fight inside and he was scared to get caught by a winging shot. His body shots count was pathetic.
