    The thing is that you can vote up to 10 boxers, But only 3 get in. The same with the old-timers, but on the ballot, they said that only 2 would get in But they selected 3.

    You might think some of the fighters on the list were better, But to leave Tyson or Tszyu out of your top 10 would be pretty hard to explain.

    I explained why Tyson was left out. How is leaving Tszyu out of the top 10 pretty hard to explain? --Chavez, Abrams, Cocoa Kid, Overlin, Fox, Zapata, Jeffra, Laciar, Garcia, and Herrera.

    Well everyone is entitled to their opinion, But I can tell you that I did vote for Chavez, Tyson and Tszyu, and most of the other voters did as well, that's why they all got in. This doesn't mean that I thought they were the top 3, But they did get more top 10 votes then anyone else.

    That's the problem. If they made the HOF more strict then there wouldn't be as many guys. Some old timers still haven't gotten in and are shelved. I love Tyson, Chavez, & Tszyu but there are probably much older fighters more deserving to go in but nonetheless I'm glad my boys finally got in.

    Actually he was inducted in 1998. I use to see him at some of the Amateur and Pro Shows that I ring announced in New Jersey.

    You're right. Can you blame me lol? There's many guys in there that we sometimes forget and/or don't know that are already inducted.

    true, i'm amazed it took til now for root to get in! but it's tricky: without film of people many are probably reluctant to put them in ahead of guys like tyson. to be honest, i'd probably be the same...footage of modern guys taints us. course that's a good reason why i shouldn't be allowed to vote:hat

    You're right about the lack or no access to film of some fighters. It's hard to really rank Burley and Greb but I bet there's gotta be footage of them(well there's 1 fight that I know of from Burley that being the Oakland fight but that's it). It is easier to judge fighters based on obtainable footage of them and we know guys like Chavez have lots of viewable fights.

    i'm probably going this year and i want to ask tyson whether he ever saw the walker/greb fight. d'amato had a HUGE collection of fights and someone on here pointed out something tyson said once that would lead us to believe that he saw full fight footage of greb. i just want to know if it EVER existed

    Well, I can tell you that for the Modern Class, I had Chavez & Tyson on top of my list and Tszyu down a ways, but still in my top 10. Approx. 70% of the voters for the Modern Class, are from the Boxers Writers, and the other 30% are Historians.
