Best Wins are in Bold Lettering.

I would have also included as options Naoya Inoue, Billy Joe Saunders and Vasyl Lomachenko but because they all have already captured legitimate titles and/or beaten P4P Ranked Fighters they've IMO already became legit Contenders.

    Other Notable Prospects
    Oscar Valdez
    Ryota Murata
    Tony Harrison
    Julian Williams
    Errol Spence Jr.
    Oleksandr Gvozdyk
    Brian Carlos Castano
    Jose Ramirez
    Egor Mekhontsev
    Jason Quigley

It's a hard pick between the first 3 options, but I'm going with the most exciting one.

Really promising what's coming up lately

I've chosen for Beterbiev, because I think he has the chance to become a world champion, maybe even this year.

But at the age of 21, Felix Verdojo has a great future ahead of him. El Diamante showed this year that he is a rough diamond and if he keeps on improving like this, he going to be a superstar.

Murata doesn't impress me as a pro one bit so far. i went with Kudry, slightly over Beterbiev.

    Excellent thread

I'll go with Butterbiev too. Ward may challenge him if he collects a strap, thinking he's too inexperienced. Ward loves to hold and hit on the inside. That would be fun

I picked Usyk as he is the only guy with a real chance of winning a belt. If Inoue counted he'd be my pick. What a talent.

I was high on Ryota in the summer but his last 2 performances while shutting out his opponents were not as impressive as he was right after he turned pro, but maybe he's just getting the rounds for later when they count.

Good thread, good poll, good pool of prospects. :good

I say the best and likeliest to enjoy more than a little pro championship success is Usyk, followed by Joshua. Third, probably Khytrov, though he is far less dimensional than either of them (basically a super David Lemieux, IMO) but I see him pretty much flattening the field except for Golovkin.

All three happened to all be stellar amateurs (in pretty much the same order quality as I've put them...Usyk a phenom, Joshua a very good super heavyweight though probably not a deserving gold medalist, and Khytrov sort of a mixed bag at top international level with some very good results like making Ceferino Rodriguez quit but also getting shut out by Jason Quigley - and then squeaking by Ryoto Murata in the world championships in 2011 and losing controversially to Anthony Ogogo via countback in the Olympics)

Betrbiev has entered the Top 10, so I would consider him to be a contender.

Usyk would be my pick, in any event.

HM: Amir Imam, who looks to be one to watch.

Thanks, I tried my best. I work better way late at night. At 3 in the morning:yep It was hard to pare down to my final picks, I was back and forth on Ramirez Smith and Pedraza but they got in based on the quality of some individual wins and Ramirez has had so many matches and based on that alone he probably shouldn't be considered a prospect anymore, same thing happened with Canelo and Chavez Jr they had 20 wins before anyone had heard of them. Mexicans really do get in the numbers up when they first turn pro don't they.

Beterbiev based on his Cloud win I almost left off as Drew said he's almost a contender but if I did that then I'd have to leave off Usyk as well, because he's ready for the big leagues more so than even Artur.

Ive gone Anthony Joshua, maybe a little biased because I am British myself but I saw it as Beterbiev is already talked about for titles and is top 10 and Usyk isn't far off either. Ramirez looks very good but he is moving very slowly, Smith also looks very good but maybe not as classy as AJ, Parker looks good but I haven't seen loads of him but what I have seen impresses me a lot. Verdejo looks class and maybe would be my second pick and Spence Jnr looks great too but doesn't seem to be moving quickly either

Joshua reminds me of Allistar Overeem. If he ever gets randomly tested his chin will start getting cracked on a routine basis. Any PED testing in the U.K. is probably perfunctory and their athletes know in advance of when the test will be administered.

The exact same deal as with thier Olympians. How do you think a country could go from irrelevant in International sport to a world player in under four years? Yet they are always the first to snitch and cry 'cheat" at every turn when a non British athlete is involved.
