Totally agree with the football - money has ruined the sport and boxthing is marching down the same path.

Bored with football as 90% of matches are meaningless and the same increasingly applies to boxthing - any competitive fight now PPV and the rest Fowler v TBA etc are of no interest.

The Eubanks constantly refer to the IBO as being a legit world championship. It's disingenuous at best and some people will believe it.

Whyte Chisora was sold as a brawl, but Hearn also mentioned many times that it was 'very' important to the heavyweight division. That was a bit of a porky. Did winning it do anything for Dillian (other than boosting his bank balance of course)? He's WBO mandatory from winning the Parker fight, and he's been around the top of the WBC for longer than that. It didn't really matter outside of what it was, which is the opposite of what Hearn said when selling it.

Hearn described Usyk vs Bellew as being 'very close' to a 50/50 fight... I guess you don't need me to explain what I think of that statement.

Joshua I would mostly agree is sold on a genuine platform. But that just proves the difference when you're working with a genuine product. Joshua unifying titles and fighting guys who have earned their mandatory shot are an easy sell.

Putting fighters on PPV who are not able to mix it with the best in their division (e.g. Bellew, Eubank) is where they need to get a bit creative (and a bit economical with the truth).

Look at the stuff that was PPV in the late nineties and early 00s. Then compare.

Yeah, there were some ridiculous PPV events in those days (I have identified Khan-Prescott as one myself in the past, can't actually remember what was on the undercard for the others you mentioned). But nowadays, it seems like its every month and every fight that features either two half decent Brits gobbing off at each other, or a well known British fighter against anyone.

I read a bizarre rumour on Twitter that broadcasters and sponsors are pushing for Champions League games to be played on weekends with league matches being pushed to midweek.

May well be nonsense but it wouldn’t surprise me.

I lost all interest in English football a few years back. The fees for **** poor bog standard players are just a rampant embarrassment to the sport. Eventually the whole system will crash.
