The first one was filmed and is available from collectors. The other two are not really worth watching, Gans was on a fast downslide.

yeah something like that. But a hour relly does not even up to 42 rounds lol. I have like less than half the fight. For the complete fight though, I would need a 4 or 5 DVD set lol.

I'm going look into getting it. The complete fight if possible. I'm guessing the quality isn't great though.

Pretty good for a 1906 fight though. The worse fight of that time period has to be Jeff Rulan. That was very blurry and waterly.

Fights a little bit pass 1908 for the most part are good in viewing.

I've only had access to the internet for a year or so, so I have never come across this footage before. I just assumed it wouldn't be available, I've only ever read about the fight.

Well Gans Nelson 1, and perhaps the others are major files though. We talking about bad pic and eveything. When you shrink the file down, you make the pic worse. And as you can see its bad already.

Thanks for the info, I'll have a look for it. Isn't there also the problem of how smooth these old fights run? I mean with lots of frames missing etc they always seem so jerky and this puts me off somewhat. As you can't really judge these old timers on this footage and its sometimes speeded up.

    Except for Robinson-Angott :verysad
The best quality film I've seen pre-1980 was two Ingemar Johansson fights. Clear crisp picture with all the details, excellent contrast, no flickering, no film defects or noise, as if they were filmed just yesterday.

I though All of Marciano's fights were in good viewing lol.
And plenty of Joe Louis's fights like Conn 1 and 2. the Farr fight is a bit tore up, but in good shape non the less. Most of the 50's 60's 40's 30's ete as long as viewing goes are in good shape. Even some fights from the 1920's are good in viewing.
