Coincidence or just the ideal height & reach for being a cruiser and carrying some of that success to heavyweight?

    Usyk

    6' 3" Height
    78" Reach

    Holyfield
    6' 2½" Height
    78" Reach

    Haye
    6' 3" Height
    78" Reach

Interesting find. Does make one wonder as there are ideal body types for different sports. Apparently Michael Phelps body type is somehow ideal for swimming as it reduces water/surface tension or something of that effect and he was/is the greatest swimmer ever.

Maybe there's something to an ideal body type for all weight classes. Obviously there are outliers like Manny and Hearns but generally speaking certain frames may be better prepared for different weights

Usyk and Holyfield had the perfect build and great skills to succeed at heavyweight. Also no way hell is Haye the third greatest cruiserweight off al time.

Yep he tried to sneak Haye in there. Jirov,Briedis, the Cuban from the early 2000s and hell even Huck have a claim to that.

Ya gotta love BoxRec. According to them the top three cruiserweights of all time are Roy Jones, Sergey Kovalev and Denis Lebedev. :ibutt

I think it's very debatable. Many lists have Haye in the top 5. Some have him in the top 3.

Usyk & Holyfield are top 2, but many cruisers can make a claim for #3.

Haye isn't close to being one of the three greatest cruiserweights.

Adamek is in with a shot as well. At least in terms of quality of opponents he beat while he was campaigning at the weight.

I removed Haye from the list, and I will also remove him from the discussion.
You saw and concluded all this well, but you still made an oversight. Usyk's weight limit was 200lbs and Holyfield's 190lbs.

Even Carlos De Leon is up there.

And what about Carl Thompson ? he beat Haye when he was in his 40s and beat Chris Eubank x2. Ok Eubank wasn't a Cruiserweight but his performance was still very good and Thompson had to dig deep to win.
