Think about it, you had numerous true 30s atg like Louis, Armstrong and Ross, some 20s greats like Walker and some later greats starting their career like Burley. So, we have a deep boxing scene and alongside with that we have huge crowds attending to the fights and the first world wide broadcasted fights, per radio, and so great recognition of the sport. The great hws are as popular as the Hollywood stars and the world is looking at boxing as one of the biggest sports of that time - if not the biggest.
On the downside we have fixed fights and racism and politics influencing the sport.

    What do you think?

I think you got me wrong, it´s not about comparing eras and their fighters but about the fighters in the context of their era and the "bigness" of the sport.

Well, I think the 30s were the first era of modern boxing. I consider the years from 1880 to the late 20s as passage eras from barenuckle to modern boxing.
