From my understanding, Manny Pacquiao d/b/a MP Promotions pays Bob Arum d/b/a Top Rank Promotions either one of three ways:
a) A flat fee
b) Percentage of expenses
c) Percentage of revenue

Manny Pacquiao pays this amount to technically have MP Promotions as the Co-Promoter for his cards.

Most boxers that have promotional companies do something similar.

So when Manny gets a check from Bob Arum, Manny in returns pays Bob Arum his percentage. Standard boxing procedure.

 

If you think that was generous, Mayweather should have accepted Arum's $50M counter offer under the same terms.

When Pac fights on a TR promoted PPV, he gets paid by Arum. Pac then has obligations to Roach, Koncz, Buboy, many others but not to Arum. Now if Pac fights on another promoters card, or say off PPV with HBO footing the bill, Arum takes a fixed percentage. If the money is not funnelled through TR, then indeed Pac gets to pay Arum.

Its common boxing procedure for a boxer that has a promotional license (like Cotto, Pacquiao, etc) to have to pay the main promoter a percentage.

And sometimes the boxer may use his promotional company as a "silent partner" on the cards & he still has to pay the main promoter a percentage.

 

that's haymon and his 26.75%. managers who negotiate for their client get a cut from fight purse, not promoters.

according to ben thompson, arum takes 27% from the net profit then him and pac split up the rest of the profit.
