This is going to be a very straight forward but ridiculously complex task.

This isn't a thread for Harry Greb, Sam Langford, Benny Leonard or perhaps even Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney and co. I'm after the 5 greatest fighters you have seen more than enough of to rate.

If you feel particularly game throw them up in order. If not that game feel free to name more than five and bracket them.

For sure my top 3 most impressive head 2 head. In no order.

Nr 4 and 5 are Ali and Joe louis

Leonard, Chavez Sr, Ricardo Lopez, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, whitaker, Larry holmes and Marvin Hagler are all in contention for the top 10

Granted, there are some fighters who I haven't studied completely or onlyohave limited footage available.....but of those listed I've seen almost every fight, alot of them several times.

I am also very impressed with Lomachenko.

Hopkins, toney, Morales,Marquez, Cotto and Hearns were great and i loved to watch them but even in their prime they were beatable

I have the distinct feeling that for you to have replied in such rapid order you have some sort of list/lists you go of!

I think all of these boys were better than Ali. It's very marginal at this type of level though.

Going with some others than the usual suspects. M Spinks, Sal Sanchez, Arguello, GGG

U didn't say boxer, you said fighter. Ergo: Bruce Lee.
Everyone else is one of the usual suspects.

Going by the footage I've seen of them

    Jones
    Whitaker
    Ali
    Sanchez
    Duran

Robinson just misses out due to the fact that I've seen too few of his fights, and of those I've seen in its entirety of SRR at his best, or at least close to it, LaMotta was past his prime and badly struggling to make weight and Graziano not that very good to begin with. But I have little doubt that Robinson would make this list if I had seen more of his biggest prime fights.

I'm tentatively looking at SRR, Ali, Armstrong, Louis, Duran for my top 5. SRL, Pep and Whitaker are competing as well.

I reckon SRL and co. must have been extremely close to pushing Sanchez out. I like Sanchez but he wouldn't come close to my 5 i think.

I am putting a lot on a few performances in picking Sanchez. That's true. I just love his performances against Red Lopez and Gomez so much, so might have been a bit biased in my selection.
