    Thank you for your concern.

Because he hadn't peaked until the Duran fight-similar to Joe Louis losing to Schmeling. As my good friend John Thomas said recently "Thomas was never faster, sharper, or more impressive" and I must say I am inclined to agree which is what makes Hagler's victory stand out that much more than Leonard's.

    Any more questions?

The Minter fight is where he became the man. Hagler doesn't do well trying to win decisions.

Thomas Hearns is an ATG welterweight. Top ten defintley, top 5 IMO. Thomas Hearns is not an ATG middleweight, not top 10. His power size reach at 147lb were much more beneficial and legendary than at 160lb. Therfore, leonards win over hearns is in a way better than haglers IMO, not to take away credit from hagler.

Antonio Tarver sudden Ko of Roy Jones qualifies as a great victory, a man who was unbeaten 15 years straight.

Thomas Hearns is not a great welterweight. Not with a one year reign he isn't. That's all he has is Primera, Shields, Baez, none of whom are more than ham and eggers.

At higher weights though John Thomas has accurately stated that Tommy was never faster, sharper, or better vs. Duran, Hutchins, Hagler, Shuler. Also Angelo Dundee himself he had never seen Thomas as good as he was the night he lost to Hagler.

    later for you loser.

I'm not going to narrow it down to five just yet, but here are some candidates:

    LaMotta over Robinson
    Duran over Leonard
    Frazier over Ali
    Ali over Foreman
    Schmeling over Louis
    Leonard over Hagler
    Pep over Saddler
    Foreman over Moorer

Duran leonard 1. A 135 man going up 13 pounds and beating arguably the greatest 147 man of all time. Factor in duran being a veteran of seventy fights and probably past prime and you have the greatest win of them all. There is no 135 man in history that could beat leonard like roberto did. This win distinguishes duran from greats like benny leonard, pernell whitaker et al.

Duran v barkley. Yes,you can say im biased but what other 135er can beat a big, rugged, hard punching linear 160 champ? Makes you proud to be short. Roberto aged 37 to boot.

Ray leonard v hagler. with hindsight, this win is absolutely awesome. A welter with One fight in five years against the reigning dominant 160 man. I think if this had happened in their respective primes leonard would have won even more convincingly over 15. Never has a champ come back after so long without a tune up.

Buster douglas v tyson. 40 to 1 odds, tyson at his 'unbeatable' peak and absolutely trounced by buster. Douglas comes back from the brink in round 8 to finish the demolition.

Thomas hearns v roberto duran. Yes,duran was past peak and such like, but hearns did what no one before or since had even come close to doing. The speed, power and killer instinct a joy to behold, and topped off with arguably the greatest right hand in history. (though cuevas may say different.)
