So looks like Oscar's trying to cook up an 8 man JMW tourny and taking notes on the negatives of the Super 6 he wants to make it single elimination and have it play out in less than a year. I'm sure most of you read this on the mainpage but surprised to see no threads on this..... It would be an excellent idea!!

Quotes from Oscar: "Why not do an eight-man tournament in a shorter period of time," Oscar said to Ring. "Why not have three or even four fights in one night and make it a single elimination tournament in a shorter amount of time. It doesn't have to last a year or two years. You can make it a single elimination, and this tournament can last just a few months."

There is a long way to go before De La Hoya can get his brainchild off the ground, and Oscar says he will sit down with his match-makers and see which Golden Boy fighters might make for great entrants into the tourney. But the names Oscar has spoken about off the top of his head make for a quite mouth-watering scenario!

"Bundrage, Trout, Lara, Canelo, Cotto, Kirkland, Angulo making a comeback. S**t, I might throw myself into the mix," The Golden Boy said."

Well I'm pretty sure we can count out Cotto and Canelo but even minus these guys 154 is hot and this would be a great tournament to establish someone as a big name and legit threat to Cotto/Canelo/even Floyd!

    I say make it:

    Bundrage
    Trout
    Lara
    Kirkland
    Angulo
    Rosado
    Molina
    BooBoo Andrade

alternate in case of injuries: Quintana, Martirosyan, Delvin Rodriguez.

Anyone think Booboo Andrade can pull an Andre Ward and pull off the upset and climb to the top of the divison without ever having fought an elite fighter before the tourny? He's got a lot in common with Ward including being a spoiler and Amateur star.

    What yall think about this?

If he can pull it off, it would be great. I agree Cotto probably wouldn't participate. But Canelo would be straight ***** not too.

It would be epic. AND, I would love to see Oscar dust of the gloves for one more go in the tourney.

Good idea, but no point going on w/o Cotto or Canelo. These two guys haven't made a dent at JrMW since they went there, and both staked claim to being champs.

It would be a great idea. And for those fighters who get immediately 'knocked out', I think it's only fair to offer them 'undercard' fights for the rest of the tournament.

That way they'd be earning an income too.

I know it's always about money, but not all of these fighters make the millions Pac and Mayweather do.

If Goldy dusted off the gloves and give it a real shot, I'd be impressed with this gumption and balls. But if he did, he'd only detract from this tourny, robbing a rightful fighter of the spot. He'd only be in it for exposure, money, and a bad loss to end his career.
