It wouldn’t surprise me. He’s been groomed into becoming a huge sporting icon from a young age. Combine that with the multiple hangers on, commercial backers and promoters blowing smoke up his backside.. must make losing quite hard to take. The guy has been media trained within an inch of his life.. but is clearly pretty unintelligent and uncharismatic. Not a good combo.
The fact that he felt he needed to come out and explain himself at all is a bit weird. He cares too much about what people think of him.
I keep looking at all those Puddings on Joshua's CV (except 2 fights) and cannot believe that the PPV Mugths fell for the richest scam ever. All that PPV Loot for Joshua, Whyte, Chisora, Parker and Bellew without an elite bone between them. Those PPV mugths probably still have no idea that they will continue to be fleeced time and again.
35 mins in. He talks far too much in riddles, famous quotes, phrases, sayings etc. Sometimes less is more. He doesn't need to blurt out every single thought in his head. Also he's just discovered the word fuuckin' and couldn't stop saying it in the interview.
Probably going against the grain a bit here but I didn't mind the interview at all... Interesting to say the least.
He regularly uses the word 'fuuckin' when tending to his uphill garden with Tony Bellew a yard behind him.
Tony Dosh PPV is no warrior - you either are or not and he is certainly not. When the going gets tough, Tony Dosh is fluff. If only he had 1% of Wilder's heart.
A bit crass really especially when Usyk has been so dignified. Joshua is so arrogant I bet it really annoyed him that Usyk basically said he chose not to KO him.
Not nearly as big a fraud as Tony Dosh PPV - the biggest scam seen on these shores since Haye in Hamburg. Wilder has the mindset of a champion, Wilder has the heart of a champion and Wilder has the power of a champion. Boxing skills no. Tony Dosh PPV has power v puddings, no stamina, no heart and now no titles.
Some interesting opinions on the interview, going to try to find some time to give it a watch. Joshua is definitely too self conscious. As others said, as a multimillionaire former world heavyweight champ he shouldn’t really give a damn what anyone thinks of him and shouldn’t have to explain himself. The fact that he is doing that doesn’t bode well IMO. Some of the sound bites give me the impression that if he is struggling in the Usyk rematch he may just look for an easy way out with a DQ which is not what I’d have expected from him. Genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to pull a Mike Tyson in the rematch and commit a serious foul play because it appears that he may be losing the plot. The IG unfollowing spree isn’t as insignificant as you’d think, indicates to me that he has cut some people off. Classic action from famous people when they are going off the rails.
