I don't know about no mandatories period. There are times when the so-called champ blatantly ducks an opponent and gets away with it cause there are so many belts e.g. Bowe with Lewis.
Less mandatories, fair enough but less ABC bodies and there wouldn't be as many shitty 'good promoter - **** fighter' no1 contenders. e.g. Lockett fighting Pavlik.

the best thing to do is when a fighter unifies all 4 belts is to IMMEDIATELY drop them and keep the Ring Magazine belt where you DO NOT have to pay a criminal sanctioning fee. Just think with the money saved from the sanctioning fees alone the fighter could go and buy a Rolls Royce or something after each fight.

Fighters that hold these belts are pissing money away.

Yep, once you're recognised as the best in your division all you need is the Ring belt, balls to the ABCs.

Fair enough, but what happens if you give them up and someone else wins them all?
You can't have two undisputed champs.

Then they should both fight each other.

When the belts are dropped they become "paper titles". Look what Lennox did after he beat Holyfield. I don't care if someone unifies them all after they are dropped they are worthless as there is already a LEGIT champion.

The belts that Ruiz and Byrd had were worthless paper belts nothing more.

The guy that held them originally would still be undisputed champ (unless he loses) - but the two should fight.

To unify all three titles would take forever - accounting for fighters hiding behind a title, **** mandatory etc etc......

The most sensible thing you have ever said. Why should a fighter continue to hand over his hard earned cash to sanctioning bodies? Especially ones that try to force you to face John Ruiz.

They should but then your back to the same **** we have at the moment, both fighters wanting more than the other, wanting home advantage etc, and no way to force the fight.

The best way is a unification tournament, if you can get all parties on board.

These days it is hard enough for a fighter to unify just 2 of the belts much less all 4.

People need to understand that these belts mean nothing in the grand scheme of things especially in a division where there is already an established champion.
