Whoa look at Nostradumbass getting into Floyd's head and letting everyone know what his true intentions are. Here's the actual difference, I am on a anonymous "boxing" forum where it's actually ok and convenient to talk and ***** about boxers, whereas the other guy is a celebrity who continually bitches like a lil girl on "openly public" ones where everyone can see what a big vagina he is. Keep it coming numbnuts, I'm feeling a lil vindictive today. BTW---I'm sure yor 2600 posts in a year includes numerous ones of you bitching about a certain boxer "ducking" of some silly **** like that.
There is clinching and then there is holding. I don't mind a rough fight where the ref lets them go and fight out of it, but excessive hugging is not good boxing and I don't care if some of you have boxed more then me or not.
:deal Part of that point is the it's clearly intentionally, and initiated. When fighters clash all the time and clinches are a result of that, it's hard to say who's "holding" or "clinching" because nobody is exactly holding or clinching more than the other really. Part of the reason is they're both attacking and falling into each other, and more importantly, generally fighters are very content with clinches on the inside because inside fighting is lost art and diminished skill with a lot of fighters so they don't know better. To purposely negate and control your opponent in such an illicit manner is wrong. That's why Wlad does and that's what upsets most boxing fans. I'll say it now. Ali did quite a bit of holding against Frazier in their second bout and that outraged Eddie Futch. There, it's not just Wlad. But certainly Wlad has taken it to another level. I see Ali moving, boxing, and punching. When all his space his occupied he'll "control" his opponents, but he doesn't fall or lean over them whenever his jab range has been negated. That's the difference extremes between them. Think of the Green-Ward fight. Green was lost on the inside but he didn't try to wrestle and spoil Ward to negate his activity on the inside and try to have a chance from a distance.
i dont like clinching . Smothering / infighting is ok , but clinching is akin to wrestling and has nothing to do with boxing , even tho it's become a staple of the sport.
Where do you draw the line at cheating.. Excessive holding is cheating, clinching is holding.. It should be done out of necessity, not part of a style or gameplan.
Who says gay **** like this? Yea, seeing as I don't have alt's like you and so many other posters around here, the comments kind of add up. Your other point is so wrong, much like most of the other drivel you spout.
Shane Mosley clinched professionally against Margarito. Wlad ****ing holds you down, grabs your neck, and holds and hits. Hatton in the Kostya fight was a disgrace. Holding and hitting isn't boxing.
In a lot of fights, occasional clinching can be a very effective tactic. When you initiate a clinche every single ****ing time your opponent gets inside, it clearly moves into the realms of cheating, which is when the referee has to step in.
