Martinez? But is that really the case?
I know dumbass DiBella said Martinez would never face him... which was odd, because Golovkin had just arrived on HBO.
GGG made his HBO debut the week before Chavez vs Martinez. Then Martinez had a supposedly easy fight against Murray, which was his homecoming and also preparation for a rematch with Chavez.

The only point i can see when Martinez "ducked" Golovkin was the Cotto fight. Martinez wanted an easy payday, and Golovkin had already made himself the clear Nr 1 contender.

The LOL will be your boy's legacy, long after the fanboys have gone on to the next big thing and the historians have their say, the true narrative will begin to take hold, and he'll accurately be seen as a pampered, gift receiving, risk adverse, hyper selective protected carefully orchestrated manufactured illusion of an ATG more than an actual ATG.

I've made that same argument several times actually. He didn't duck him IMO, but to many others, they do see it that way, so I included him on that list.

I never made him out to be a monster, if anything I downplayed how good he was, I've had countless arguments on here with GGG fanboys as well, because I picked Ward and Froch to beat him with relative ease, so you're barking up the wrong tree there. Sure I said he'd easily beat guys like Lara, Cotto and Canelo, but that's about it. I even said Martinez and Pavlik would give him hard fights and didn';t want to pick a clear cut winner.

I don't give a **** about Hopkins or his record, I've never had that discussion with anyone, because I don't care, so its irrelevant to what I'm saying.

As far as moving up, yeah, GGG is fully capable of making the move North and most likely picking up a strap, whether he actually cares enough to is another question.

Callum Smith couldn't stop Skoglund or Holzken. Cool it with the hype, Groves is glass jawed, good for him, he stopped him, GGG isn't a glass jawed.

That list is so ****ing long. But whenever i see Martinez on it, it ****ing triggers me
The list should also have Geale and Jacobs with an asterisk.
Geale* dropped his WBA belt to fight Mundine for an easy payday. (kind of a ***** move, but can't really blame the man. He did go to Germany twice! I think Geale was the first to unify belts since Hopkins)
Jacobs* was very reluctant to take the Golovkin fight. He was more than happy to run around Brooklyn with his fake ass belt. (i still ****ing cringe thinking back on those videos)
It was after the Brook fight that Jacobs suddenly got brave.

I actually don't like this choice of opponent. Why?

Rocky Fielding isn't a world beater, he's European level at best.

160 is heating up nicely (Although BJS just got caught on steroids)

168 is such a garbage division while 160 is where the money is at and of course where all the hype is.

Ye i pretty much agree with that but not so sure if he vacates after one fight his team to clever for that, plus he needs ggg to be tied up or retire and charlo (depending on the ggg outcome) to head down other avenues, imo(otherwise its a pretty obvious avoidance of the real heat in the division he has a weak/controversial grip on). So if you buy into my theory for a second who would you think/ sugest he stays busy with at +8? Iam just picking your brain here, respect.

 Don't disagree with a thing you said, it triggers me as well, hence why I usually attack people that throw off on Maravilla for that. At last he had a legit reason to not fight GGG, unlike the rest of them.

Oh how quickly Golovkin haters/Canelo lovers forget.

I had Jacobs edging the Golovkin fight btw.

That's a distinct possibility that I considered as well, hence why I stated that in my OP. He may very well hang out for a fight or two, maybe take on a beatable , but more legit opponent up there before making his way down south again, Canelo is kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, if he stays at SMW, there's some massive guys that could prov to be a problem, but at 160, there's a slew of stylistic nightmares, he might be screwed regardless.
