I never cared for female boxing, now female wrestling I like some of the WWE divas are hot, and I used to love watching GLOW, back as a kid in the 1980's.

The only way it will grow in popularity is if female fighters start taking on male fighters, which is just something bad waiting to happen.

This was supposedly the best female fighter in the world, a world champion in kickboxing taking on a decent male amatuer or local level pro.

    Derby Mercury - Friday 27 September 1765
Yesterday Morning two women fought for a new Shift, valued at Half a Guinea, in Islington Fields, which was won by Nell Draper, Commonly called Bruising Nell, of Saffron-Hill. They fought with prodigious Masculine Vigour and Agility, for above 20 Minutes ; and it is thought that Neell, the Victorious Amazon, has purchased the Shift at the Price of her Left Eye, which was almost beat out in the Battle.

Modern Manhood; or, the Art and Practice of English Boxing
by Henry Lemoine, published in 1788

Modern times have even produced a Woman who could Box, and she was the famous Hannah Snell, of martial and naval memory. This extraordinary woman, besides her other martial qualifications, was the terror of the principal Bruisers in Liverpool and Portsmouth, about the years 1740 to 1750. After the discovery of her sex, his late Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland granted her a pension, and she exhibited among other characters for a long while, that of a Bruiser, upon the little Theatre, called the Wells, at Goodman's Fields, where she always came off with great applause.

On women's boxing, I don't care for it on TV, but for some reason I like it live. Go figure.

I'm happy there isn't a big demand for it, otherwise, you have broke mother's lacing em' up to make extra money.

Nobody seems to tell mountaineers, that they should not attempt ascents, that are statistically like playing Russian roulette.

My policy is that you make somebody aware of the risks associated with a given sport, and from that point it is their choice!

1849-08-18 Spirit of the Times (New York, NY) (page 306)
A female prize fight took place at Philadelphia a few days since, the prize being a man named John Whaley, now a convict in the Eastern Penitentiary, and the condition of the fight was, that the victor was to be undisturbed in her claim upon the said John, and the vanquished party was to pay for one hundred drinks. A regular stand up fight took place, and was continued on the ground, when some officers arrived, and the amazons were conveyed to jail.

I think women's combat sports is a great idea and I've watched better female fighting matches than many lay and pray men's matches. I can't see the problem with women fighting. So what? They've got every right to show how good they are at the sport they have chosen.
