In recent memory its Lockett, he didn't even have a go.

Cowdell against Nelson was a right battering as well but at least it was an honest effort.

I can only really comment from the last 15 years or so as I feel I can't comment on things prior to that. I think you have to quantify "worst" first of all. For some of the guys mentioned above, they were simply outclassed by a better boxer like Bruno, Hatton, Lockett and Hamed. To me, the worst performances are those that are well below par when they could have done so much better.

Woods was a big disappointment. He should never have looked that bad against somebody like Tarver but it'd be harsh to say that was the worst British performance. That was an off-night from a good solid pro.

I'd go with Enzo Maccarinelli vs David Haye. He lost control of himself before he got in the ring and gave himself absolutely no chance of winning even though he always had a punchers chance.

Still think you have to have hatton in there. Yeah he was outclassed but his performance forgetting the jab and headmovement etc made pacs night much easier

    Enzo did disappoint against Haye

After all the good confident talk Enzo had been saying in the weeks of build up

"I'm gonna give it everthing I got"

"March 8th Haye is in for a shock"

It sounded the vibes were good

A week before the fight he vowed

    to

"wipe Hayes smug smile of his face"

    and

"he wanted to beat Haye because he wanted to be more than just the glamour boy of my town"

and he vowed a week before the fight

    the time had come to

"punch a hole in Hayes head"

    I was thinking

Enzo is really up for this

and Haye is gonna get smashed

but when he got in the ring before the opening bell when they came face to face

it just seemed all the confidence had drained out of him

Lockett was a willing lamb to the slaughter. He knew what he was there for and accepted it. He was looking for one last pay day and Team Pavlik were trying to bash up a mate of Calzaghe's to get a fight with Joe. And don't forget that Lockett lasted longer than Hatton vs Pacquiou or Maccarinelli vs Haye.

Akinwande-Lewis was awful, I'd forgotten about that one.

Scott Welch froze against Akinwande as well

    Poor performance

    He shat himself

After him and Jim McDonnell - talked cofidence for weeks

He did **** all in that fight but "survive"

I don't think its just about how long a boxer lasts (otherwise Cowdell would take some beating), with Lockett it was the total acceptance of his fate before, during and after the fight. Maybe he was just being realistic but I'd have liked to see him at least try and win.

New born baby son kept waking him up week of the fight - and broke his sleep pattern

    He had the flu

And he was seen limping around Swansea week before fight

And he put his chin in the air and hands by his bollocks

(the above are all rumours that I heard - cant tell you whats true or false - just stuff I heard around the grapevine)

He was there for the money. No desire to win,he pretty much admitted as much before the fight
