    agreed

someone like Clinton Woods goes 12 rounds with Tarver but fights poor

someone like Kevin Kelly gets sparked inside 4 rounds by Naz - but gives it a real go and has a war and punches and floors Naz on nuemrous occassions

Kevn Kellys Performance is much more credit in it

But exactly. Lockett was never meant to be on that stage. He never earned his place there. He got manouvred into a position where he got a big payday and he was a convenient guy to beat up on for Pavlik's own interest.

How many times have we seen similar things in this country? Calzaghe being fed Will "Kidfire" McIntyre on a Tyson undercard for example.

Nobody in their right mind would give Lockett a hope in hell of beating Pavlik and that's the big difference for me compared to somebody like Maccarinelli or Woods' performance because they could and should have done much better.

If Lockett had come out swinging and was KO'd in the first minute, would that have been a better performance?

It would atleast be showing some desire to win.He just took a knee and took his cheque.Fair play to him,he did well for himself considering

In my book yes. At least he's "rolled the dice" but I hear what you are saying about the expectation (or lack of it), I suppose it depends on which way you want to look at it but I def. think rounds lasted isn't the way to do it.

I have no problem with Lockett taking the money for an undeserved shot or Pavlik wanting an easy defence, its all part of boxing but I think Lockett should have least gave it a go for a couple rounds instead of just waiting for Pavlik to KO him.

The funniest thing about that fight was the "Thats why Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik" threads on the General Forum. Like Calzaghe was scared of Pavlik because he beat Lockett.

I don't think how long the fight lasted relates to the worst performance either. I just think it was very unrealistic to expect Lockett to do any damage to Pavlik and everyone involved knew it. When weighing up the fights above, I think the expectation beforehand should be taken into account, that's all. To Pavlik, this was nothing more than a keep busy fight and Frank Warren didn't even bother himself to even watch it whereas most of the others were seen as winnable fights.

    Who did you vote??
I think you have contradicted yourself slightly saying,'what is Lockett supposed to do,come out swinging and be KO'd in one minute?' and then knock Maccarinelli and Hatton for being KO'd quickly (by pointing out Lockett lasted longer) when they were actually there to win
