Bute et Diaconu fin prêts à défendre leur ceinture

Stéphane Larouche et Pierre Bouchard, les entraîneurs des deux Québécois d'origine roumaine qui détiennent des titres mondiaux de boxe professionnelle, en l'occurrence Lucian Bute et Adrian Diaconu, sont emballés par le sérieux, la détermination et la discipline manifestés par leur protégé à l'entraînement.

Bute (22-0-0) procédera à la première défense obligatoire de son titre mondial des poids super-moyens (168 livres) de l'IBF le 24 octobre au Centre Bell.

Il se mesurera au Mexicain Librado Andrade (27-1-0), celui qui avait mis un terme à la carrière du Montréalais Otis Grant le 8 avril 2006 au Cabaret du Casino de Montréal (il avait battu Grant par K.-O. technique dans le cadre d'un match éliminatoire décisif au titre mondial du WBC).

«Lucian, comme c'est son habitude, a bien fait ses devoirs à l'entraînement et il sera prêt à relever ce défi dans 10 jours», a affirmé Larouche hier après-midi au gymnase du groupe InterBox, au Centre Claude-Robillard.

«Généralement, Lucian travaille au gymnase durant 12 semaines, en préparation à un combat, mais il l'a fait durant 16 semaines cette fois.

«Lucian savait qu'il avait besoin d'une préparation toute spéciale pour Andrade, qui est solide, combatif, fort physiquement et acharné comme pas un.

«Lucian amorce maintenant la phase finale de sa préparation. Il ralentira la cadence pour bien faire le plein d'énergie avant le grand moment.»

Quant à Diaconu (25-0-0), il se prépare aussi pour la première défense obligatoire de son titre mondial, celui des poids milourds (175 livres) du WBC.

Il fera face à l'Italien Sylvio Branco (59-7-2) le 15 novembre à la salle Polyvalenta de Bucarest en Roumanie.

«J'ai la conviction qu'Adrian est mieux préparé mentalement et physiquement qu'il ne l'était en avril, lorsqu'il avait vaincu (aux points) le Texan Chris Henry à Bucarest», a admis l'entraîneur de Diaconu, Pierre Bouchard.

«Le printemps dernier, ce n'était pas évident pour Adrian de se préparer pour un combat de boxe, alors que son papa se mourait. Le décès de son père l'a affecté, mais il à fait son deuil, et il est en mesure de vivre pour la boxe.

«Il a fait un camp d'entraînement exceptionnel jusqu'à maintenant. Adrian, tout comme c'est le cas pour Bute, s'est préparé avec sérieux, détermination et discipline.»

Bouchard n'est pas étonné

Bouchard n'a pas sursauté lorsqu'il a vu Chad Dawson (27-0-0) servir une correction à Antonio Tarver (27-5-0) samedi soir dernier à Las Vegas.

Dawson, qui a préféré renoncer à sa ceinture des poids mi-lourds du WBC, plutôt que de devoir affronter Diaconu en Roumanie, a détrôné Tarver comme tenant de la ceinture de l'IBF, en le battant par décision unanime des juges.

«Je m'attendais vraiment à une victoire de Dawson, a affirmé Bouchard. Il est plus jeune, plus rapide et plus mobile que Tarver.

«Dawson, semble-t-il, était très bien payé pour ce combat, alors, il ne peut faire autrement que de croire qu'il a fait la bonne affaire en affrontant un Tarver vieillissant plutôt qu'un Diaconu dans la force de l'âge.

«Est-ce qu'un éventuel combat d'unification des titres mondiaux entre Adrian et Dawson est possible ? On verra.»

Soulignons qu'à une dizaine de jours de l'événement, la vente des sièges au Centre Bell dépasse maintenant le chiffre de 14 300.

Finalement, notons que les affrontements Bute-Andrade et Clavette-Hearns seront diffusés par le puissant réseau américain Showtime.

Yep,Silvio Branco,a old warhorse who has fought everyone he could:Thomas Tate,Verno Phillips,RobinReid,Glen Johnson,Thomas Ulrich,Fabrice Tiozzo,Stipe Drews,Mehdi Sahnoune,Manny Siaca,Agostino Cardamone,Sven Ottke.He has a good chin and good heart with always questionable skills,now faded questionable skills,should make for an entertaining fight regardless if it's in Romania,Italy or Germany:good

10 kgs.That's how much boxer Adrian Diaconu has to lose,to make the weight limit for the Silvio Branco fight.
''I almost completely left meat out of my menu.I only eat a stake dinner at night.The rest of the menu is very strict.In the morning,I only eat 2 fruits,cereals and a iogurt.For lunch,a 2 egg omlet with cheese,and for dinner a stake grill with vegetables.It's pretty hard especially I train everyday,and I train very hard.'' said Diaconu for Libertatea.
For a few days the WBC light heavyweight champ has started to sparr with 2 american sparring-parteners.
''Everything is going accord the plan we made for training camp.I am fermly convinced that the belt will stay in Romania,after the Branco fight.I don't wanna give my opponent any chance.'' also said Diaconu.
The fighter's big passion is fishing,about it he says he will never stop doing it.In the past days the one called The Shark,went fishing again where he caught a few big ones,which he prefered to give to some friends.
''I have enough time to fish for myself.There,on the lake side,I feel the best'', the fighter ended.

Recently,there have been some voices that Adrian Diaconu's fight with Silvio Branco-fight in which the romanian should defend his title at LHW,will not be taking place in Bucharest,Romania because of lack of funds.On this aspect we have called up Adrian's amateur trainer Ion Moroita.''They still have some last minute aspects to work on,but Adrian's fight with Silvio Branco surely will be in Bucharest'', said Moroita who is the one who discovered Diaconu as a kid.The famed trainer also said ''They were simple rumors.Most likely,next week,all these problems will be solved,includin the official date,14,15 or 16 november'' Moroita ended
