Well it appears that David Haye knows who the future king will be Its good to know that we have a true Champion backing Adi, espescially Haye who is one of the true Champions of our sport Go ADI Go
I like Adrian a lot. I hope he will do well against Henry and make Chad earn his money if they fight. I am not saying he is better then Dawson but I hope and I believe he can KO him out. Diaconu will never win a decision with Chad, but he can kill him :deal
Aparently, Diaconu had a small part in a Canadian film about the Canadian Mafia...:rofl [yt]SHWMBnCEDHI[/yt]
http://www.tvr.ro/sport.php?play=34080 Little video about the Diaconu fight. They show some sparring and they interview Carl Handy. One of Diaconu sparring partner. PS: I'm wearing the same blue t-shirt that Handy is wearing in the sparring session.
You are starting to become as familiar with the Romanian media scene as I am becoming with the Canadian media scene, Maxime... Btw...Diaconu was saying that he gives his all in sparring so that it's not so hard during the fight. He said he's been doing about 100 rounds of sparring already. He said he was reducing the number of rounds of sparring (tapering off) and that he was feeling stronger and faster, and, from a physical point of view: "excellent".:good
Not really, somebody else from another forum found the video. I don'T speak Romanian so it's hard for me to navigate on those websites.
Henry ready to make history! Undefeated light-heavyweight Chris Henry has no problem in traveling overseas and battling Adrian Diaconu in his backyard of Romania for the WBC Interim Championship and the right to meet the winner of the upcoming Dawson-Johnson bout. "I'm looking forward to my trip to Romania," said Henry, "I know that there is a lot of history over there and I aim to bring some of it back with me April 19th." It will be the first bout outside the United States for the hard-hitting Henry who has amassed 17 knockouts in his 21 victories and is facing the biggest challenge in his three year career. "I'm going to win this fight. He has no idea what he signed up for and is up against in Chris Henry." While Diaconu has an amateur pedigree of being an Olympian, competing in the 2000 Games in Sydney, Henry points out that he too has had success as an amateur, "I won a National Under 19 Tournament around 1998, and I was a National Golden Gloves Finalist in 2005, losing only to pro Chazz Witherspoon. I was highly recruited by the top promoters, trainers and managers all over the country." Henry has added trainer Ronnie Shields to his team in hopes of capitalizing on the opportunity presented by Diaconu. "I needed Ronnie Shields to add just a little polish and experience," said Henry of the new hand on deck. "I was with trainer Bobby Benton, son of Texas boxing legend Bill Benton, when I turned professional, and he will still be in my corner as a second, along with Mike Roberts. I have been with Ronnie Shields for over six months now and he has had so many champions such as Mike Tyson and Jesse James Leija along with the Main Events stable so my corner is a real asset when under pressure." "Ronnie Shields has me ready and I'm ready to fight right now. My manager, Bob Spagnola has done a great job getting me the right opportunities and now it is all up to me. "Spags" managed a few real world champions and contenders and I have been with him since I turned professional so I'm very confident. I feel just great. We have had an excellent training camp and I'm coming to win April 19th. This is my lifetime opportunity and I plan to take advantage of it fully." "I believe this will be a "fight of the year" candidate because I know Adrian can really fight." http://www.fightnews.ca/2008/news/henry20080409.htm
