And yes to the fact I think Diaconu doesn't fight better in Romania. He may be more disciplined in Italy or Germany. Sometimes, too much feelings is not good for a boxer.

 

Well anyway this figth is long overdue.I hope they do it soon as possible,february or march.Always a pleasure of watching The Shark fight.

 

A fellow Québécois wrote this afternoon on a local forum that Italy does not allow boxers over 40 years old to fight in the country. If it's verified, that means there is more chances it takes place in Germany.

That is true but that only applies to Fragomeni from august on and Branco is already over 40.

''Italian promotor Salvatore Cherchi has won the right to promote the WBC LHW championship fight between Adrian Diaconu and Silvio Branco which will be on march 28th in Italy.
The promotor has confirmed that the fight will be on march 28th while the venue will be either Milano or Civitavecchia.
His winning purse was 377700 dollars.''

Now Idon't know if the romanian press is informed about the ''over 40 years'' rule but it seems Cherchi is making it a good card.Would be nice to have both fights on the same card.But really.....how the **** did he win the bid?I know Interbox don't throw money at Diaconu anymore but neither did the romanians apparently.Not even 400000 dollars is very bad pay.He will get 70% cuz he is champ but that's what?300k?Louzy.And I'm not even saying anything about Branco.Next few days,weeks should clear it.If not just move the whole card to Germany.
EDIT,I found some more news later:Gankor Promotions(the romanians backing Diaconu and promoted his last fight led by Interbox PR manager Chris Ganescu) offered just a little under Cherchi,364k.

Cherchi will have 15 days to announce the day and venue and 21 days to send th signed contracts by the fighters.
Diaconu's trainer Pierre Bouchard is also aware of the ''over 40 year rule'':''Italian boxing Federation doesn't allow fighters over 40 to fight in a title fight.Branco is in great shape and looks great but is 42.I guess the fight will be in Germany as the italians are in good relations with Sauerland.''
Diaconu will get about 225k and Branco 150k in dollars.Not much at all.:-(

 

I guess they don't want old men dying in the ring.Pretty much will happen in Germany same day as Frag vs Diablo in Italy.
Adi made 600k fighting Henry and now not even 300k.****in WBC.I hope je blasts this guy away and makes a good payday against Glen.
