I've recently taken an interest in Archie, and wanted to learn about his overall life and career. This book by Mike Fitzgerald seems to be the best biography of the him out there based upon what I've heard. Can anybody give me feedback on this book if they've read it? Also, suggestions for other good books about the Mongoose would be appreciated.

I thought it was terrible. NOTHING in there that hasn't been written in better ways in old magazines or books on other fighters. Basically just a book for those that don't know the Moore story. NOTHING deep. Btw a good book concerning a Moore opponent is "The Fighting Fisherman. The Life of Yvon Durelle". Terrific, Durrelle himself comments on all his fights, though he didn't write the book.

I thought the book was not too bad, Moore apparently contributed to it. I haven't read the other Moore books so maybe there are better ones but still I liked Fitzgerald's work.

Archie is one interesting character, the one bit of information I found stunning was Archie was dropped over 50 times in his career. But a lot of those fights he got off the floor to win. I guess that's why they called him the mongoose, just when you thought you had him....
