Buitrago is a younger Roman Gonzalez, he will the WBO champion Raymi is too old and limited to defeat let alone KO1 Champions
In a few hours' time (it's currently a little after 7pm in Yemen), Raymi will look to make history by tying a five year old world record in professional boxing - 19 consecutive KO1 victories to start a career, set by Tyrone Brunson from 2005-2008. Raymi will have done it two months faster than Brunson. His opponent, Ali Salem of Somalia, is his biggest step up to date at 10-0 (2). He is a bit of a cherry-popping specialist much like Raymi himself, and like Raymi has never fought anyone with a losing record. :bbb
We really should not put so much burden on him. A record of 19-0 with 19 KO is good enough for me. :good
We are lucky they even bring camcorders to Raymi shows and eventually put them up on YouTube. That is as cutting edge as technology gets in Yemen. Live streaming or international broadcast? Maybe in 2113.
Increasing the feat's already impressive grandeur is the fact that Ali Salem - who at times has competed all the way up at super bantamweight - actually weighed in for this contest at the flyweight limit...two divisions above the straw limit, which Raymi made. That is the equivalent of Bernard Hopkins scoring a KO1 over Wladimir Klitshcko.
Raymi is a serious contender in his division. This guy is dropping people like fly's. His KO power is devastating. It really does surprise me that people keep mentioning Golovkin's insane power, when you have someone like Raymi, who has dynamite power in both hands!!
:think Could there be any veracity to rumors that Raymi is targeting 23-0 (12) Filipino and current WBO titlist Merlito Sabillo Jr. in a colossal leap up vying not only for perhaps his epic twentieth KO1 but also the fulfillment of his world championship dreams? That is provided, of course, that Sabillo makes a successful defense later this month with 27-0 (16) Nicaraguan wunderkind Carlos Buitrago challenging... Of course, that is 25 days away, which is longer than Raymi prefers to stay inactive. (except for that one time when he disappeared for 25 months...) He might squeeze in a tune-up and hit the historic record-breaking 20 mark before capturing the belt. It may be for the best. That would be too much intensity, too much on the line for a single match.
This guy is the real deal. Norwegian newspapers have begun writing about him, and they rarely write about anything related to boxing.
