The Williams fight was a truely brilliant performance from Ali.

Tyson was never more feared as a fighter as he was during this era.

    What gives?

No joke. I voted for Ali. On the other hand, I think Tyson is often severely underated in Ali vs Tyson threads. If Frazier could give Ali hell, so could Tyson.

Agreed but I'm not sure Tyson could give THAT version of Ali hell. I still say the Ali of 66-67 was the greatest physical freak in the history of boxing. That size + That speed = Almost unbeatable.

Yeah that Frazier also fought an Ali that was never the same...the speed was gone forever. This is 3 1/2 years of not exactly doing cardio work or sparring sessions. This is a tumultuous 3 1/2 years.. Id even say that Im surprised Ali came back from that

    Good point.

However, Tyson was a physical freak. The power, speed, and ability to get inside created a fighter which would test Ali's ability to box from the outside. I think Tyson could quite possible floor Ali in this fight, but I still think Ali's movement, intelligence, and superior power of belief in his abilities carry him to the win.

i think Ali would've fought a totally different fight against a prime Tyson than he did against Williams.

What I hate is that Alot of people will say Joe Louis can cut him off and that and this. Folley already remarked that it will be an almost impossible task for Louis because Ali was a master of angles, punches from all directions and with the speed.

I'll give you an example...You know Grant hill the BBall player?

He looked nothing extraordinary speedwise because he was so smooth...

Speed you think of Mugsy Bouges, Dee Brown, Nash. Well I saw this guy play in the Garden..this guy was just floating in the court a blur , I was Whoa!!

Now Imagine Ali, he was fast on film as it was...Imagine him in the ring real speed.

You know what..Its the overall speed of Ali, the footspeed, angles that will give Tyson fits and Mike was a beast no doubt about it and some of the fastest hands to boot

And Ali's tendency to carry his left hand at his hip? Frazier was a hooker and didnt capitalize on this, I doubt the same could be said for Tyson.

    Just to play devil's advocate.

Tyson vs Tucker could be quite relevant.

Peak for peak the best two heavys ever and Ali ud if he could get Tyson's respect early.
