Folks don't like to be wrong...some more than others and with those people they have a hard time accepting even if it's right there in front of them.

The only people who said that were paclanders. Trying to hype them up.

I knew Oscar and Hatton were washed up, as I watched them both nearly get knocked out by Juan Lazcano and Steve Forbes

A lot of people rely on what used to be instead of what is. Roach saw "what is," and avoided looking at "what used to be."

Let's look at it from a different perspective. If this was Floyd facing Hoya at that time, Hatton at that time, and Cotto at that time...they would all rip on Floyd for taking those fights at that poin.

And you predicted a stoppage by Pac on both accounts? You knew Oscar would quit because of the ass kicking he was getting. And Hatton would get KTFO before the 2nd round ended?

You Paclanders live in a magical world.

Manny was a huge bookmakers favourite with both Hatton, Clottey and Cotto. He was 1/20 or something!?

The only bout that was a slight surprise was Oscar, and that was just people who hadn't seen the Steve Forbes fight, and knew he was finished at 154. Let alone being made to boil down to 145

Pacquiao was a 1/20 favourite in that fight for a very good reason.

Hatton wasn't even that good a fighter, at his peak. Let alone when he has guys like Juan LAzcano putting knocking him down

    He had 0 punch resistance

Actually JMM got lucky the first time....he was GIVEN a draw and avoided the rematch until Manny was considered a "Cash cow". The 2nd fight Manny won in anther close fight but he definitly knocked JMM on his ass twice and sealed the "W".

EM won the first time but he got handled 2 times after in far more dominating and more telling fashion. The Raheem fight was clearly one where EM was taking the kid lightly coupled with a VERY bad style.

No one thought Hatton was a good Welter....even when Floyd faced him...which is why it surprised EVERYONE how well Ricky did against the best P4P fighter at the time.

What the **** are you talking about?! Floyd fought a 38 year old Mosley and a fat ass Marquez and you guys give him FULL credit for that ****. People even use those fights to Floyd's claim to being better than Pac :patsch

:patsch not a hate thread. Truth thread.
That he, like Floyd, have picked opponents carefully at certain points.

That both can even be seen as overrated if you are just looking at the "names" on the resume without what the fighter/opponent was at that time

If Floyd took a series of fights, as PFP number 1 of:

David Diaz, Oscar (after Pacquiao had already beat him), Hatton (after Pacquiao had already knocked him out), Cotto (coming off a loss), Clottey (coming off a loss), Margarito (schooled by Mosely)

    The media would destroy him

:patsch I'm ripping on Floyd as well.

Mosley was Past his prime, I know that. I don't give Floyd credit like Mosley was in his prime like he was for Oscar at WW. He gets credit for facing the #1 WW/Champ in the division (after his complete destruction of Margarito) and the man that Pac avoided. Other than that, he still fought a past prime Mosley.

That said, at least Floyd took the fight with Mosley unlike Pac who avoided him all of last year which caused Shane to sit on the side-lines.

So what? Diaz was a champion....Manny wasn't planning to stay at 135 but he needed to gradually move up. He did the job and moved up to face DLH.

He took Cotto over Shane again....moving up and Cotto beat Shane.

He's fighting Marg anther True WW and a big one at that but at least he's fighting......He could be on vactation!

If you think PAC has taking the path of least resistance in his career then everyone else has resumes completely made up of "Fluff".

So DLH and Ricky were washed up before Floyd stuggled with them and before Manny destroyed them.:yep I'm not really buying that but just using your logic.:-(
