i say floyd is a better body puncher...which is not to say that pac isn't...pac can go viciously at the body as well

You wont see it that much with Pac before than you would Floyd. Pac does use them more lately. Floyd for now.

 

Alright victor here you go . It took me like 2 minutes. Floyd - Marquez round 2. It was the first video I brought up, didn't even have to look hard. I'm not going to bother looking for more, but I guarantee you there are a ton of them out there, and you can go all the way back to the beginning of his career. He very sparingly throws power shots to the body. His main gameplan is using his speed to get off lead hooks, and straight right hands from the outside, and getting back out in a defensive mode. He very rarely opens himself up to throw more then 2 punches, or go to the body unless it's a jab. Emmanuel Steward has commented on this in several of his fights.

Even Floyd agrees with me. He said after the Marquez fight that he should have thrown more combinations. He must not know **** about boxing. Anyway, I'm done/

I'm not sure if you are still talking about rounds where May didn't throw body punches, but I counted 4-6 during that round.

I think the more notable things about that round are:

1. JMM's most meaningful shot during the entire evening was met by a smile by Floyd.
2. Floyd immediately retaliated from that by knocking JMM down through a left hook. This highlighted even more that JMM's chin is really not that great and that he is usually a slow starter.
3. JMM, being the tough ******* that he is, went up again and showed great heart and recuperation.

 

^ I'm not counting jabs to the body, just power punches (hooks, uppercuts).

 

I watched that round and he landed a jab to the body in the first minute atsch

edit: I just saw your post above. I guess jabs don't count anymore as punches. And he asked for a round w/o a punch thrown to the body, not just power punches

 

:nut My point from the very begnning was that Floyd doesnt throw a lot of power punches to the body (not including jabs). I've made that pretty clear . He knows what I'm talking about.

Floyd. Pac uses it as part of of his combos, but he's more of a head hunter.

 

I've consistently said power punches. I've said it in half my posts. Who calls jabs body shots anyway? Have you ever heard a commentator say "wow that was a great body shot ! " after a dude lands a jab to the stomach? :!:
