Pacman is not versatile. At all. He faces the same opponent everytime down the stretch. Floyd Fights different types of fighters all the time and finds a way to win.

You know... it did take Floyd a good 5 rounds to adjust to Hatton's pressure.

Mayweather by a mile, he can fight in anystyle, he really can do it all, Pac can't, its really that simple.

Floyd all day! He has shown the ability to adapt to his opponents mid-fight, and turn the tables completely. Remember the Hatton fight?

Manny fights JMM twice, destroys him early, and JMM makes an adjustment to which Pacquiao cannot deal with - at all. Ever since those fights, Manny's opponents have been made for him so he doesn't HAVE to get out of his style:

DLH: Completely drained at 147, became a glorified punching bag (leftover)

Hatton: Tries to get in close, leaves his chin exposed and gets KO'd (leftover)

Cotto: Shell of his former self after Margarito blasted him with the plaster, and couldn't take the damage Manny dished out

Clottey: Put on the earmuffs and let Manny tee off on him - however, Manny STILL was able to get caught with the same damn uppercut and NOT make an adjustment

    Margarito: Complete zombie!

Mosley: Ran away the entire time and refused to fight. Manny didn't expect this, and couldn't do anything to really hurt a guy who decided to touch gloves more than throw actual punches! (Another leftover!)

I gotta give it to Floyd. You pretty much know what you're going to get in a Pacquiao fight. You never really know when it comes to Floyd unless we go by his history and that's WIN!!!

Against Clottey he was lost. Against Cotto he couldn't cut off the ring. Mosley was making him miss all night. If Pacquiao has more tools we would've saw them in the JMM fights. He doesn't.

And you're probably right, this thread is probably put together to devalue Pacquiao, but there are a million more threads put up to do the same thing to Floyd.

But I can't believe anybody who's ever seen both of these guys fight could say that Pacquiao is a more versatile fighter. Some of these posts are just plain ridiculous and laughable.

Pac isn't very versatile...he is a mid range foighter fights well side to sside n jumpin in but never had to over come all styles when wuz the last time he beat prime A class fighter all his last opponents were coming off being outclassed like mosley or koed like hatton marrgaito he can't fight off the back foot or forward his defense is porous floyd will be world class once he loses his physical gifts becuse he is technically sound...manny won't cuz speed leaves first his skill set is ok but his power n stamina gt him here...same as what happen to my boy roy

I am talking about his whole career...he's not a inside fighter and its not a knock on him im just sayin he is not as versatile as Floyd. Also Floyd had shown he could fight ont he inside with the best of them from 130 on up he has displayed this....he has been the bigger person in maybe what 2 fights...JMM and Mitchell and Mitchell is pushing it.

It makes sense if it helps you win...if RJJ fought on the inside and was getting his ass kicked no it doesnt make sense if he fought on the inside and could win...why wouldnt it make sense?

Floyd is more versatile; but all that matters now for those two is how they match up against each other on the night.

Looks like I got some new adds for my ignore list. This question is easy to answer, but it is amazing how much being a fanboy will cloud your opinion.

Even the biggest Pacquiao fan should recognize who is the more "versatile" fighter in the ring. And it is not Manny.

And exactly that is the point, as Pac's career retrogresses, he is fighting bigger guys, so it makes sense for Pac not to fight them from the inside.
