He's not worried about the punch. As a southpaw your objective is to make sure straight rights don't have much sting on them by the time they hit you. Its all about positioning. Its something orthedox fighters dont understand. Unless you can bob and weave like Whitiker avoiding right hands entirely is a fool's errand. Using footwork and anlges to limit the force of the straight ring is by far the best strategy for a southpaw especially one of Pac's short height.

Well, so far 35 people in this forum are either *******s with about as much boxing knowledge as my 9 year old niece or Floyd haters that have such distaste for Floyd that the mere mention of his name sends them on a path of destruction of keyboard killing in all boxing forums they can find.

Pac is VERY successful in the boxing game- but all of his fights exhibit the same style. He is VERY effective at what he does but he has only ever needed to fight one way. His match ups are against guys who get in there and are fine trading to deliver punches. He has never had to adapt because people always fight HIS game.

Floyd has fought swarmers, boxers, slicksters, power punchers, bigger opponents, had less reach, outsped fast opponents, he himself WAS outsped, but Floyd's versatilty allows him to evaluate and adapt round to round. Floyd has not won every round he has ever fought, but he has managed a way to win EVERY fight due largely to his versatility and his ability to be a thinking fighter.

This thread, i'd like to remind people is not a Floyd KO Pac or Pac KO Floyd, it is about versatility. Floyd > Pac in versatility (it is my opinion Floyd will win if they meet unless Pacs closes it early, but even that opinion aside, on resilience and depth of his game) Floyd is the more versatile fighter.

potshot, move, potshot, move, counter, potshot, move, counter, its the roy jones jr. formula with a bit of james toney thrown in.

Floyd can't do what Pacquiao can do and vice versa. Totally different fighters. But Floyd has the more versatile style, overall. He isn't ****in Bruce Lee though.

    lol..

Floyd does this with Ortiz and he gonna fuk him up..

I think he will be able to fight like this...I dont see Ortiz having the speed nor the footwork to be able to do what he wants...

in re to the thread title, Floyd is more versatile...

This does not make Manny any less of a fighter though...less of a "boxer"...maybe...but no less of a fighter...

Pac can do things like put guys to sleep, with hard punches, coming from a weird angle....just looking at the opposing point of view:good (see Hatton-Pac for source)

Floyd is better than Pac is some areas while Pac is better than Floyd in other areas. That's not too hard to accept. Regarding versatility, Floyd is more versatile.

The only category Floyd can't hold a candle to Pac is as a crowd-pleaser.
