    What is your responses to:

-The Margarito win was at junior middleweight, therefore Pacquiao only has four fights at welterweight. de la Hoya, Cotto, Clottey, and Mosley.

-In terms of big four wins at the weight, I would not argue with anyone who said even or very slight edge to Pac. Mayweather's big four: Judah, Baldomir, Hatton, and Mosley. However, Mayweather has beaten a lineal champ and a #1. Pacquiao has never beaten either at the weight. Plus, the edge gets quite tilted when Marquez and Mitchell are added to the Mayweather resume.

-Their next fights to close out the year, Pacquiao will be fighting Marquez at welterweight 2 years after Mayweather won 11/12 round against him. That win for Mayweather was not among his four best of his six. Plus, Mayweather will pick up Ortiz, which would be in either of their top four wins at the weight.

Because based on Gayweather's opponents before they fought Gayweather, his opponents are like these:

Mitchell - 1-0 against a bum, KOed by Tszyu prior to fighting a bum

Judah - 5 wins - 2 losses. Lost to Corey Spinks and then Carlos Baldomir before facing Gayweather

Baldomir - career welter, with 9 losses against total bums.

Ricky Hatton - 1-0 against Collazo, where he sucked

JMM - 0 fights at weiterweight, 0 fight at junior welterweight, 2 fights at 135 - cheated on scales

Mosley - 3 wins, 1 loss to cotto

    So much for welterweight fighters.

When Mayweather faced and beat Mosley, that was the only time that the comparison between them became close.

In fact, his wins over Dela Hoya, Cotto and Clottey trumps the whole career of Mayweather at 147 pre-Mosley.

I think at the moment it's clearly pac who has the edge.

after the next round of fights we really should evaluate. if pac doesn't beat jmm as well as floyd did and floyd looks great against ortiz then I'd have to give floyd the edge. If pac blows out jmm and floyd beats ortiz then it's pretty much equal.

I think its pretty equal but since pac has been doing it in a much shorter period he looks better.

It was a catchweight fight so there has to be an asterisk next to this W. At the end of the day, welterweight has a limit of 147lbs and this fight was not contested @ the welterweight limit. Therefore, it was not a welterweight fight.

    bull****.

pac was the best at 140, cotto arguably the best at 147. pac gave more ground than cotto.

plus this win really made people believe pac was the real deal. I know you like to re-write history but you can't change perception.

pre fight this was seen as a huge task for pac and one that would really cement his legacy, which it has. Post fight cotto has gone to become the number 1 lmw.
