Agreed. From a fan point of view, not accepting a 50/50 split is bs .... However, from an economic and business point of view, .................................
#1 Rule in negotiating - Never accept the first offer!

Here SD, since you enjoy statistics so much... here's one for you. One that is more indicative to why this is a 50/50 fight.

    Floyd Mayweather
    2009 total PPVs sold - 1.05M
    2010 total PPVs sold - 1.4M
    2011 total PPVs sold - 1.3M

    Manny Pacquiao
    2009 total PPVS sold - 2.05M
    2010 total PPVS sold - 1.82M
    2011 total PPVs sold - 2.8M

PAC will continue to chisel his way to more $$$ with more lucrative fights vs Floyd on the other hand ain't got too many choices except for Sergio that fans would also like to see...

If true, this makes Floyd look really bad.

We can sit here and debate and twist their PPV stats, but when it comes down to it 50/50 is the way to go. There is no other way--AS OF NOW neither of these two stand out over one another to be deserving of the lions share.

Simply put to the Floyd fanboys...

Would you rather have 50/50 and actually see the fight, or never see the fight because Floyd is demanding more?

There is no way to defend Floyd in this one. And I'm a fan of his...

“He asked me about a 50/50 split and I told him that can’t happen,” Mayweather said as quoted from ESPN.

Here's a guy who since Day 1 has come up with demand after demand just to fight. To this day, it is still he who has preconditions that need to be satisfied like a specific fight date, venue, drug testing demands and whatever else. And when his opponent requests an even split, he can't even budge. Again, who the hell does this dude think he is?

This dude touches his kids' mom and gets sent to prison, got a "get out of jail" pass so he can fight and make some money. Mayweather does not deserve more money than Pacquiao. An even split is the one demand Pacquiao wants. But if Mayweather can't even give in to an even split and he's asking for all kinds of demands, why would Pacquiao even waste another second, or should I say two minutes, talking to this megalomaniac?

Mayweather can call out Pacquiao a million times more, tweet and talk all his junk, but he has to walk the walk too. Negotiations are about compromising to achieve. And when they don't, you tweet and call them punks. You can expect that behavior from 3rd graders; not with true champions.

50/50 split is how I see it. It is obvious Floyd is ducking and wants the lion share. Remember he owed the IRS 5 million last yr and since it is around that time again who knows how much he will owe this yr. I'm sure he has serious money problems and he is getting sort of desperate to make some money, but I always said it should have been 50/50 walk in to the ring, 60/40 to the winner and 65/35 if you win by K.O. or T.K.O. That way you would have to fight and try not to potshot your way to victory. I am not a fan of neither but this is gotten so old that I really don't care if they fight or not.

I wouldn't even call an even split a Pacquiao demand. It's just what it should be.
