It would make no sense what so ever if this fight didn't happen because Mayweather wanted more then a 50/50 split. He doesn't have better options available and he would come out looking very bad if this was the case.

It would be a ******ed move. But the fact that neither Mayweather or Arum has said anything about it personally so far gives me hope that it is a false story.

    Two things tho
    1. pac dose not deiced what happens to the money
    2. With Mayweather having his own promotion company and the detailed way his money is dealt with in the fight, would 50/50 split make it that pac gets paid twice? once from top rank and once from Mayweather promotions? I am no insider and not sure but i think there is more to the 50/50.

How it works all depends on so many things, but generally...

Broadcasters get their cut first from broadcast fees (PPV and such).
Casino/location get their cut via site fee but most are from ticket sales and any thing sold (food and drinks) at the fight location.

The 2 promoters - TR vs Mayweather (GBP is not considered a primary promoter in PBF fights) then split the rest 50/50 (broadcast, ticket, concession, etc).

TR will pay Pac his guarantee (Pac will gets a traditional contract with TR) and a cut of the rest of the revenue share of TR after TR recovers their cost and/or after above a certain level of revenue.

Mayweather pays himself because he is the primary promoter for his fights but he also must pay part of the production cost like TR is doing. He pays GBP/Schaefer a flat fee for representation and ad promotions.

Mayweather is almost likely to earn more than Pac even if it is 50/50 split in fights like this because he shares revenue with no one. Pac is really just sharing his revenue with TR. But Mayweather does take a risk. For example if they spend a high level of production cost with expectation of 2.5 PPV buys and only get 1.5, PBF will be on the hook for 2.5 PPV based expenditure and PAc still gets his guaratee from TR. PBF will then likely owe money instead of making it or his revenue will be much smaller.

But that is highly unlikely with this fight where they are expected to get at least 2 million and with decent chance of 3 million sales.

This is why Arum wants a bigger stadium. He can increase his revenue more. Even if the ticket revenue only matches 17k MGM - the revenue from concession stands (food, drinks, shirts, pictures, advertisement fees, etc) will far exceed the 17K MGM.

It was Floyd's own email dude, unles you think ESPN just made it up.

They didn't say it wasn't true, they said "Bob Arum lied again." So did Bob Arum hack into Floyd's email account and make up a fake email? :huh

It is now .. and according to Pac's camp it has been for a while. They were sayin Floyd was asking for too much money goin back a year or two ago.

Nothings been squashed, this report continues to run on ESPN as we speak.

Levi can never squash anything, the only thing he did was prove he's a bold faced liar by stating Arum played a part in creating fake Mayweather emails.

Really, it was less than 6 weeks ago that Arum said the "purse wasn't an issue", so I'm confused as to when this became an issue? Furthermore, why would this not have been brought up prior to now? Arum has gone out of his way to give the media every excuse to not make this fight, yet this hasn't been mentioned...Why?

So you believe that Floyd sent an email to ESPN stating he wouldn't accept a 50/50 split from his email...wait nevermind, you believed Floyd was going to fight Morales and Guererro, carry on...

What's so unbelieavble about it? Somebody from ESPN probably contacted him , asked the question, and Floyd answered back. If you read the email it's clearly Floyd's words.

To say it isn't true you'd have to believe either that ESPN made it up or they got punked.

    It should be 50/50 period.

But Pac has said he'd take the smaller share. Why even say that in the first place.

Coz Floyd declared that May 5th is Pacquiao ass whoopin day.

Manny probably says "**** that... if floyd gonna whoop my ass, might as well asked 50 percent of the lion shares"

Why do people keep saying this? Can someone give me a quote where he said that from a reputable source?
