Indeed. Pacman/Hatton would be more entertaining and possibly generate more bank but Hatton is Hatton and Mayweather is Mayweather.

I'd hate for Hatton to win and to see Mayweather/Hatton II.

    Pacman/Mayweather truly stirs the soul.

That would only work if Pac beats Ricky, Mayweather already has a victory over Hatton.

He has to earn it back, in my opinion.

If he seriously cares about his legacy, he'll fight someone like Pac or Margarito.

I prefer PBF to Pacquiao, and prior to this fight I had Calzaghe at #1 and Pacquiao at #2, but Pacquiao has more than proved that he deservesto be the #1 P4P. I could never truly be a fan of Pacquiao because I was such a Morales fan, but I will never deny Pacquiao's ability as a fighter. The man is a beast, and I gotta give credit where credit is due. He comes ot fight every fight and does not let up for one second. If he were to fight PBF I honestly wouldn't pick one over the other. Pacquiao is and will be P4P #1 until someone proves otherwise, and the only way I could put PBF over Pacquiao is if he beat him in a fight.

Pacquiao should stay #1.. While Mayweather was sitting at #1, he did not fight the best competition out there such as Margarito, Cotto, or Mosley.. When he retired, Pacquiao took over as the #1 P4P fighter and has defeated JMM, Diaz for the WBC title, and DLH in the process.. Not only did he jump up two division to fight DLH, but he demolished him whereas Mayweather only won by SD.. Mayweather would have to work his way back to the #1 spot and the only way that is happening, is if Pac loses a fight or if he, himself, can beat Pac..

Unranked until he wins a fight against a good opponent. No matter how good Floyd is, I don't think it's right to retire and come back a year later and regain a ranking just because.

There's no way The Ring would demote the active and reigning no.1 for a guy stepping out of retirement before he had even fought again, no way.

Plus probably the key factor in deciding on p4p is recent form.

In his last 3 fights, Pac has beaten the world p4p#2, won a title at a 5th weight division with a KO, and dominated an ATG welterweight after jumping TWO weight divisions to produce one of the best wins in recent boxing history.

In PBF's last 3 fights he has laboured to an SD against the same guy Pac dominated (a sloppy and poor performance by PBF by his own standards), KO'd Hatton (a great win but not as good as Pac v Marquez as JMM is p4p#2 and Hatton was **** at 147 as we seen v Collazo), and beat... Carlos Baldomir .

Pac is the undisputed number 1 on merit, of course Mayweather would have to earn it back.

Congrats to Pacquiao for his most recent victory over Oscar, but it doesn't by any means grant him a legit chance against PBF.

    Pacquiao has suspect balance*

    Pacquiao lacks fundamentals*

Pacquiao has no defense and is very hittable*

He lacks proper footwork and lateral movement*
(even though he looked good moving against DLH, DLH didn't do much to disrupt Pacquiao's movement and as the fight went on became a standing target)

PBF would expose all of Pacquiao's flaws and dominate him if they ever were to lock up in the ring.

His defense, speed, agility, and boxing mind will show to be far superior to Pacquiao's.

Please don't count his past opponents because even though they were very credible, there's no doubt in my mind that PBF would beat them - possibly even worse than Pacquiao did. (if you count his opponents from superfeather and up)

I can't take anything away from Pacquiao because he's getting the job done but in comparison to PBF - he's not even close to his level.

pacquaio has no defense, no punching, power, no heart, no determination. Pacman is gonna bow down in the presence of mayweather.
